I've been playing the Just Cause 2 demo. It's the most kickass game I've EVER played.

So it seems my old guild on wow has fallen apart, and there's like nobody there anymore. Right now I'm in the process of installing wow with Lich King (China's still on Burning Crusade), and working some h4ck5 so I can play on Taiwan servers. They are on the same patch of Lich King as US servers.

Red Dead Redemption is probably the best game I've ever played. The caliber of these titles sure is skyrocketing. Damn!

Yeah, the Classics were AWESOME, and then for some reason everything seemed to be total crap. But now EVERYTHING is getting awesome again: Movies, Games, you name it.

It's an extremely well made game. Even if the gameplay sucked, the story is good enough to keep everything going. Luckily the gameplay is the best that Rockstar's ever done.

I WOULD be playing Mario Galaxy 2 if my sensor bar wasn't busted.

Little World of Warcraft, mixed in with some Half Life 2, and considering getting my computer up to gaming speed/buying a ps3. Whichever is cheaper...

Serephel, just out of blunt curiosity, what server are you on?
Edit:
Yeah. Just caught you were in China. How's that work? Do the people you play with speak Chinese, or are you on an American server?

I play on 雷鱗 (lei lin) on a server in Taiwan. Translated as Lightning Scale? I'm not sure what you call it back in the states.

I downloaded Mass Effect yesterday for $5, and I'm about to get Dragon Age: Origins Digital Deluxe Edition and the expansion for $54. Steam sales are the best way to get games and the worst way to save money. Tomorrow I'll actually have a chance to play something.

Lightninghoof? Yeah, that sounds like it could work.
But it's an American server that you play on in Taiwan? That's interesting. Is it like that with all of the servers then? Or are there special Taiwan servers?

It's a Taiwan server, for Chinese people. I live in China, though I am American. I have a Chinese copy of the game, jerry rigged to play (give quests in, show abilities in) in English. I'll post a screenshot later, it's actually kinda cool how effortlessly you can actually play in different languages. Though you do need to know Chinese in order to communicate with other players, or at least be able to read enough to take directions.

Oh, gotcha. That's pretty cool then. Is there no way to get on American servers over there? Or do you prefer the Taiwan server?

For one, latency issues. It's pretty hard to secure a VPN or proxy fast enough and reliable enough to allow me to not lag on a 25 man raid when I am half a world away. You can forget about ever doing Wintergrasp.

Plus, coordinating raids would be a pain in the ass while half a world away. My day is your night and vice versa. Said latency issues would mean I'd only be able to raid if they did it at off times in the US.

Mostly, I like the Chinese practice I get, so I play here instead.

Didn't even think about timezones. I've never had a great understanding as to how each server works, so latency:location is lost on me.

Assuming you've played on an American server, do you think the Chinese are better or worse at the game?

Are you kidding? This is Asia. Every year we have kids who fucking die playing computer games because they forget that their earthly bodies need things like food and water. PC games reign supreme here (excepting Japan, which is console gamer heaven). You can safely assume that the best wow players here are fierce rivals of their American counterparts.

Well, I've heard stories. Like that one kid who was hacking some game at a computer cafe or something, so some other guy playing the game decided to do a little "hacking" of his own... Always assumed them to be rumors, not familiar with that part of the world. Guess that means patch day on a Chinese server is insane...

Anywho, I'm camping all of next week, so I'm off to bed. Instead of good night, good morning since you're in China? Peace

Good afternoon, rather. 12:40pm here, convert to your own time as necessary.
