oh, my bad, they're not magnetic--they're called "safety eyes" and apparently use washers in some way. i just remember a huge sense of relief when i forst read it upon realizing i wouldn't have to try and sew 'em on. i am a terrible sewer.
-
of course! there are definitely a few i want to make--i have to track down some of those cute magnetic eye-things though.
-
eek! an eyeball! i think i have a book of patterns that jess hutch created, but i haven't knitted anything from it. i have not had much time for needle-related crafts lately. :(
-
considering that the punchline of that bit was "anyone who wrote down this equation and/or cared about it in any way is a loser," i find this thread incredibly entertaining.

some machines do that, and some don't, waffles. my brother and sister both got weird lumps when they had their uppear ear cartilage pierced, but i didn't. unfortunately i can't remember the difference right now. i don't recommend the needle and ice cube thing . . . a girl did that to me at camp one summer and it didn't…

!!!!(etc)--i was recruited by a university library, b/c my second degree is in library science, which is required for librarian jobs. sorry to get your hopes up. if you want to do admin stuff at a university, definitely look into their temp agencies--and if you don't hear back from them, call and see what's up so they know…

i am slightly squeamish about those big stretched piercings (the REALLY big ones), i will admit. stef's, on the other hand, is adorable!!
-
aw, thanks for the shoutout, stef! it's true: i was offered a pretty awesome job (i start in june)--but of course, it took me TWO master's degrees to actually get it. i have had a lot of odd (seriously, odd) jobs in the past, though. for people looking for jobs, maybe talking to some temp agencies (at universities and…

stef--congrats! you have been wanting an eyebrow piercing for what, like ten years? :) awesome!!!! and cupcakes rock. which you all know, but it bears repeating.
-
i'll add it to my netflix queue right now! i love netflix mostly just for adding "queue" to the american vocabulary. (hey khan--how could i look up whether or not to netflix it? i wanted mario's opinion, and last time i checked libraries could not yet beam into people's brains . . . :) )
-
so should i netflix that, then?
-
haha, i just watched the princess bride on tv eysterday. it's been playing on a few different cable channels over the past month. and nowmandy patinkin does commericals for cholesterol medication--so sad! my favorite thing on livejournal is the bad angsty poetry!

funny ol' catholics!! also, funny ol' people getting their tongues stuck to things. ouch!
-
also, it's shiny!!!
-
apparently the drug transforms the masks from knitting to shiny silver spandex! it's definitely an improvement.
-
hooray for breaking down boundaries between genders! so that we can give short shorts to the richard simmons doll!
-
*sigh* best game ever. i saw a commercial recently for an updated version--it wasn't cool at all! it was all high-tech and stuff.
-
i'm more of a chocolate chip girl.
-
the hello kitty-shaped waffles are even more amazing.
-
just for the record, i have seen the hello kitty vibe in real life and can assure you that it's not meant to be inserted. soooo . . . how 'bout that mall madness? THERE IS A SALE AT . . . THE SHOE STORE! *ch-ching!*
-
stef--i have the hello kitty waffle iron, so i understand completely. and target's furniture has been featured on sites like design*sponge b/c it's just that cool. i can't wait to have an excuse to get some!! by the way, supermarket sweep was a crappy game show in the us when we were kids. suburban folks would have some…
-
walmart sucks!~! target forever! seriously. i can't wait to move jsut so i have an excuse to buy all new things at target. there will be serious bathroom-redecorating.
-
this strip speaks directly to my life!!! i too love the cute duckies at target as well as its bright shiny clean rows of awesome. i did briefly boycott them when they said they didn't have to stock emergency contraception, and also when their new sugarfree candy made me very sick, but it probably won't last. i love you…

maybe her dad is a car guy though. i mean, my dad (a dentist) would still take care of my teeth if i were married. :) i think single chicks are very aware of the pitfalls of wearing rings that look like wedding/engagement rings. perhaps the car shop guys get overly friendly with the poor girl-clerk, so she's wearing it to…

he is too still running around the world! one of my friends, when he was on a whitewater-rafting trip somewhere in south america (i forget where), met macguyver, who was filming a documentary about the river or something. this was a couple years ago, but still. this was an especially funny story to those who knew my friend…
