  • Sorry I haven't been participating in these. Hopefully I'll be better able to keep on top of such things in the new decade! This was the earliest avatar I could find, back when I was actually registered to Inksandwich as Makar. File creation date is 8/6/2003, so it's probably about as old as I can get 'em!
  • Too late for Christmas Horror Movie Night, but I'm glad this video has finally made it onto Internet. When I heard about this last year I was eager to watch, and it doesn't disappoint. I present the latest addition to the horror movie roster: Treevenge! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vaiv7kAXBzM (thanks Bevin!)
  • Freejack returns! I forgot how much horrible Emilio Estevez thigh is in this movie. Still, it's got race cars and time travel and Mick Jagger, so it's forgiveable. Plus a future that's now in the past!
  • Gattaca reprise! It's amazing how close this movie feels in terms of prognostications coming to pass. While putting together this party, I found word that they're making a procedural cop drama in the Gattaca future! Suffice to say, I am quite excited about this prospect!
  • We need to say "Twenty-Ten". This "Two Thousand and" bullshit was a ten-year mistake on our part. It's the future now! Happy New Decade! EDIT: New Year's resolution! I hereby resolve to use the TimberLake forum theme as default.

  • When you consider yourself lucky to not have leprosy. When you stop caring when people update their comics.
  • It all comes full circle!
  • I've felt that way for awhile now. At least include The Orange Belt as well as the theme's associated website name.
  • Drunk O'Clock! Might this be a fun way to do SCIENCE! movies? Just puttin' that out there.
  • This is gonna be a clusterfuck. Methinks we will need primaries, not to mention political parties behind which candidates can rally. Since the hot issue on voters' minds seems to always be policies on zombies, might I suggest Pro-Life (anti-zombies) and Pro-Unlife?
  • I approve of this venture.
  • Decades are not used the same way as millennia. A millennium starts at xxx1, but a decade is a ten-year span where the tens digit is the same. So the 2010s run from 2010-2019. It's true that a decade is technically any span of ten years, but the standard convention is to group years together as a means of summing up a…
  • I most certainly did not! Those movies definitely take place in present day, or at best the not-too-distant future. Their data collection techniques are easily attained by our modern ability to fire small rockets at clouds and burn CD-Rs.
  • But... I'm not even running! Go Photoshop Lauren's head to your fatalicizing or whatever!
  • I hereby throw all my political weight behind Candidate Salsini. Lauren for Comptroller!
  • I'm for either outcome. Any world that can't withstand some good old-fashioned humming probably wasn't worth having anyway.
  • Merry Boxing Day! And Christmas too I guess.
  • I got all my Christmas shopping and wrapping done two days before Christmas! Despite my dad refusing to give me a hint of what he wanted until yesterday. ^__^ SUCCESS

  • Wait a cotton-pickin' minute! You can't just waltz in here and water your plants without more conversing. How the heck have you been?

  • X-Mas is the time when we huddle together under the palm tree, praying that Robot Santa doesn't kill us all.
  • Damn, that was beautiful.

  • I approve.
  • It's understandable that the phrase is confusing, since it's a corruption of an older phrase. The original phrase refers to eating one's cake and having it too. The idea is that you can't partake of something and continue to benefit from its ownership. The phrase is synonymous to "you can't have it both ways". People get…
  • Funny you should mention this, as I'm hosting a Christmas horror movie night at my place tomorrow night! We're opening with Santa's Slay, and Silent Night Deadly Night 1 and 2 (GARBAGE DAY!) will be in the mix. I've got The Gingerdead Man, which was pretty awful when we viewed it at last year's party but may still make it…
  • (I should mention that I mostly was going to make this thread to talk about the following song collection. ^__^) Following up on their excellent The 25 Days of Newman from last year (also worth a listen), Paul and Storm are releasing a new collection of tunes for the holiday season in the style of They Might Be Giants. It…
