I'm on an old-skool NES kick. Quick, recommend some NES games that you liked that didn't get much attention and/or props!

    Battle of Olympus.

I'll say M.U.L.E. again for the forum's sake. Then I'll add in The Guardian Legend, Destination Earthstar and Sky Shark for good measure.

M.U.L.E.? I didn't know it was on the NES.

Anyway, I'd recommend Adventure Island, of course Any of these

I'll second Battle of Olympus, even though it gets maddeningly difficult later on. Also, Crystalis, though I'm not sure if that one got a lot of attention or not.

Wall Street Kid was pretty unique and fun.

    Anticipation!

Ugh, I was terrible at Wall Street Kid. I could never save up enough money for my demanding girlfriend.

Galaxy 5000 is pretty damn awesome I dare say if you haven't played it.
  • edited August 2007
Anticipation..... *sigh* You WOULD suggest that.

I wish that guy would sell these online, I'd buy one immediately. At least he offers the ROM for free.

Archon It's kinda like chess except you have light or dark squares and you get to fight for the squares. Depending on alignment, you could be at a disadvantage or not.

Wizards and Warriors They made sequels, but I didn't think they were very good compared to this first one.

Super Spike V'Ball This was fun to play although I never got to play it with four players.

Nintendo World Cup was a great four-player game.

Ah yes, I remember that game. It was fun making them headbutt up and down the pitch.

Joe & Mac, I just remembered was a brilliant game for the NES, but I was no good at it. Couldn't get past level 1 :(
  • edited August 2007
Are you sure that wasn't for SNES? I know there was a Joe & Mac game for SNES, but maybe it was a sequel...

    Snake Rattle'N Roll
    and Egypt

Definitely NES, they had to make Joe's hair black owing to the limitations of the system.

I own Snake Rattle'N Roll. And let me tell you. It can't be beat! I swear to god! I've gotten to the last level on multiple occasions, but that damn foot with the flag? It doesn't f'ing die!
  • edited August 2007
The foot dies. You just lick it to death.

    Ragnar.

    Master Blaster.

    Sharazad.
  • edited August 2007
Isn't Master Blaster the guy from Mad Max? But Blaster Master is a great game.
  • edited August 2007
    Agreed. Difficult, but good.

I'm not sure if it's underrated or how good the NES version is, but California Games on the SMS is pretty good.
  • edited August 2007
It was at that! We should have just bought that game back in the day because we rented it so much.

Also, Blaster Master is not as hard as Snake Rattle'N Roll.

EDIT: Yo! Noid (Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru).
