Fallen

Hey, I was wondering if anyone caught the first part of the three part special on ABC Family called "Fallen". It's on 8/7 central on ABC Family on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, with each night showing parts one, two, and three respectively. I normally don't watch a lot of ABC Family, but this isn't what you'd expect on that channel.

It's about this guy, Aaron, who discovers that he's a Nephilim, the offspring of an angel and a human. The angel, known as a Fallen, is one of the angels who rebelled against God with Lucifer and consequently lost. Aaron also is not an ordinary Nephilim, and he possesses extra powers that only angels are supposed to possess.

I watched the first part earlier tonight, and I liked it. The special effects were obviously not as good as what you'd see in the movies, but they weren't bad either. There are angel fights with flaming swords and whips that look pretty cool.

Anyway, it's a pretty interesting show, and it's only a three part special, so it's not an ongoing series. If you have time, I'd recommend checking it out.

I saw some previews while watching Whose Line is it Anyway. I wasn't that interested.

I;m watching the "marathon" right now.

Its pretty stupid, so far. But unlike, say Army of Darkness, this is trying to be serious, so its just sad.

EDit: While watching the Family Channel, I keep seeing a commercial for a new show called "Slacker Cats"
In these commercials, I hear them referencing sex and drugs, as well as a host of other "non-family" topics. The overall concept of the show sems like "2 stupid dogs" meets Quagmire from "Family Guy". Weird.

    DOUBLE POST OF IMPORTANCE:

Ok, so this show has a Talking Dog Who Is Basically A Retarded Person, Jedi-Angels with lightsaber/flaming swords, A British Rockstar Lucifer, Ethnic Half-Angels, Evil Angels, and a main character who looks a whole lot like a younger version of that dude who played Angel on that show Angel.

    Angel.

Yeah... I just finished watching it, and it wasn't as good as I was hoping for. The talking dog at first was a way to emphasize how he can speak all languages as an angel, but I think the dog just stayed for comedic effect.

Overall, it didn't make a whole lot of sense. He had the ability to send fallen angels to heaven, but it was because he was Lucifer's son. So Lucifer did some human woman to get a son to send him back. I didn't really see why he had that ability. It wasn't very clear or well explained.

I'm not a religious person, but I've always found Christian theology interesting, so stories centralizing around it tends to pique my interest. Unfortunately, I tend to be let down a lot.
