The point I want to draw your attention to is that you must register in person thirty days before the election or have your mailed-in registration post-marked thirty days before the election. Unless you live in Washington. Which you don't. So ignore that. Infact, it doesn't even say that on the page. I read it somewhere else.
OH! Also you can register once you're 17 years and 10 months old!
X'o'lore, I agree, I am sure that there is a lot of money wasted in education, but money does help. Call me idealistic, but pay teachers more, then more of the good teachers will teach at public schools. New textbooks and equiptment can be bought for kids. More and better sholerships can be handed out to more students that otherwise can't afford to go to college. Those are some examples of how money can help out educations. Also, as for just choosing one state to compare the finances to the military, I am sure that if I added up all 50 states, it probably will not equal the military spending for the year. I was just being lazy and did not feel like looking up every state. I live in California, so I chose that state. And this is a guess, but California probably spends the most on education of any state. If someone wants to find out this piece of info and I am wrong, I will happily concede to this part.
The point of protesting a war is a way to show your displeasure in a war. Granted, there are other ways of doing it, but this is the way I chose to do it.
As for my car, Geoff, my car was only terribly pulluting about the last 3 to 4 weeks I had it. And the last week and a half was spent in my driveway waiting for the towtruck to take it away. It passed smog everytime it was checked out. I could have gotten a car already, but I feel now is not the time. Will l get a car in the future again? Yes. Am I in a hurry to get one again? No.
Yes, the CCPOA has their share of money wasting and whatnot. I agree. I chose the military because that budget is out of control also. For the federal budget, it is by far takes the largest chunk of the change.
As for our government officials, yep, corruption and incompetence is certainly prevalent.
