You've all no doubt woken up to flashy blue light and read the news, but if you didn't, Nintendo are giving away free silicon jackets for your remotes.

Yanks can order one here

And Brits here!

I guess existing silicon jacket makers are gonna be pissed!

    They want me to get a silicone jacket for my Wii? Wow, I'm not sure I'd say that in polite conversation. Either way those things look ugly and I don't throw my Wiimotes.

    I just got my two jackets in the mail. They're actually pretty nice.

    I could make all sorts of "hur hur it's a plastic covering for my wiimote" jokes, but actually they're pretty alright. They don't make the remote too bulky, add some good grip to it (hur hur, it's ribbed) and there's a big cushioned area at the front in case you lose the remote and it goes flying.

    I got mine today too. Actually really comfortable. The Nunchuck port cover is a nice touch too :)

    I'm still waiting for Nintendo to implant the remote directly into my wrist. It's the only way to be sure.

    They have enough on their plates shipping god knows how many wii jackets! Wait for that to finish before the next step!
