It taunts me!

The dancin' silhouette test.

It alternates directions at random to me.

This things pretty strange. I've found it goes clockwise, but if I concentrate I can make it go counter clockwise, and then clockwise again.

It goes counter-clockwise all the time for me. I can't get it to go clockwise.

At first it went clockwise, but then I closed the window and looked later, and it went the other way. I tried this a third time, and it still went counter- clockwise. Oh, and now it's clockwise again.

How can you see it going any other direction. If you saw a still frame of it, her right leg is extended and when she's facing forward, the extended leg goes from the right side of the screen to the left. It seems too 3-dimentional to have any alternate perspectives. Counter-clockwise people, please describe the movement.

It kept changing on me. When I first saw it, it was clockwise. Then I started reading the article, and it suddenly switched on me in the corner of my eye. I couldn't get it to change, so I went back to the article. After finishing the article, it changed on me again.

It's all-clockwise-all-the-time for me. Also, it bugs me how the author refers to counterclockwise as "anti-clockwise".

I can switch directions at will! I find that they key is to stare at the foot at the very bottom of the image. It rotates very little, so it's easy to focus on. Then, all you have to do is focus on the foot changing direction. The rest of the body follows.

Clockwise, also, that's a fairly sexy silhouette.

It works because its a silhouette, theres no definition to have a reference to, so your brain can interpret it as spinning in either direction.

Thank you Serephel! That works like a charm. I can rest easy now.

It usually goes clockwise, but sometimes it goes counter-clockwise for a bit.

Except that, since it's a silhouette, you can't tell if she's facing forward or backward at any given time.

wow... that's weird... at first i saw it clockwise and ONLY clockwise, i couldn't for the life of me get it to turn. After a couple minuts of trying REALLY hard, I finally saw it spinning counter clockwise... but that took some serious effort. Weird...

EDIT: BTW, i got it to switch by scrolling down and watching just the feet, once i got those spinning the other way in my brain, i scrolled back up and it worked. And if it helps you to seee them switch, on clockwise her right leg is up, on counter clockwise, her left leg is up.

I usually see it going clockwise, though I can get it to go counter-clockwise if I try really really hard.

Question though.. was it really necessary to give the floating shadow erect nipples?

This was not only necessary; it was crucial.

I finally got it! It works best to stare at the reflection.

It was strange for me at first because I had no control over the direction switching. It would spin one way and suddenly flip going the other way with no effort on my part. It would keep doing this randomly. I couldn't figure out if I was left brain or right brain because my left and right brain seemed to be locked in some kind of civil war. I am not conclusively left or right brained.

Well, for the life of me, I can't see it going counter clockwise. I have beeing looking at it for probably around 10 minutes, with the trick that Geoff listed above, but no, I cannot see it.

By the way, I am left-handed.
