Episode 300: The Man In The Cloak-Rimmed Glasses

Go to the main site to view Episode 300. This thing's friggin' huge, and I don't want to break anyone's browser without their permission. It feels good to finally get this episode finished, and hopefully you'll all enjoy reading it more than I enjoyed making it (oh my god what a pain in the ass).

I think there might have been some confusion, so let me just say that no, this is not the last episode. That would be a really sucky ending.

Very nice, and worth the effort. Although it lacks Diminutive Mega Man #2.

    SECOND POST!

Congratulations on your 300th comic. I've been waiting for so long. Glad to finally see it.

    Third!
I bet you weren't even going to make the miscreant actually be (spoiler, for if someone is reading this instead of the comic) until you read it as a prediction.

    edit:Oh, guess I'm fourth.

Actually, you're wrong. His identity was pre-planned from his very first episode, as was his appearance under the cloak. I've made his sprites as two separate layers from the get-go.

    Flying fast means I'm posting!

There is a lot of glowing in this darn comic here.

I was exceptionally impressed by the Darunia sprite. Unless you've already used it before and I just forgot. But still thought it looked great. Anyway, nice 300th comic. But now I wonder where sages come from? Don't they have to be good people to become sages in the first place? The Miscreant seems like he's been evil his whole life.

This was worth the wait, I did laugh heartily. Why does Bub tip over?
  • edited November 2007
Bub tipped over because agreeing with Link about calling him Cloak Man probably made him physically ill.
  • edited November 2007
Link broke his brain, a little.

As for the sages' alignments, I seem to recall Nabooru being part of a tribe of bandits.
  • edited November 2007
Nabooru is the Spirit Sage and Gerudo, just like Gannondorf. She say so when you meet her at the Spirit Temple before Kotake and Koume capture her.
  • edited November 2007
Yes, and the Gerudo are a tribe of bandits. Just sayin' is all.
  • edited November 2007
She was a thief with a heart of gold. She wanted to make a better life for her people. She was possessed for 7 years because she refused to hurt people as per Ganondorf's orders.
  • edited November 2007
Ahem. Just sayin' is all. And Kasuto didn't start out bad, he was just corrupted by power.

Nah. That's just glare from the obscenely bright Mac screen making it look that way. Most LCD screens are like that these days. The manufacturers look at it like this:

Step 1: Increase brightness for greater contrast
    Step 2: ???
    Step 3: $$$

    Kabuto~ Kasuto

GAWWDD!!! We were one letter off!
  • edited November 2007
    Well, that explains the Miscreant.

That doesn't explain New Kasuto though.

    WHOO! COMIC 300!

    DANCE PARTY!!!!!

    Now that that's over with...
I too was right! Link looks very similar to the Miscreant (I'm still calling him that). Could Link be New Kasuto?

This comic reminds me of a fanfiction I read when I was new to the internet.

And exactly how is Zelda Comic not a glorified fanfiction? Funny story, I actually started to write a fanfiction that involved Kasuto a couple of years ago. It might still be on my PowerBook 140, buried deep under the Earth's crust. I mean my file cabinet. I'm not entirely sure how an old PowerBook became my dedicated fanfiction-writing machine, but there you have it.

Please don't break into my house and read my secret fanfiction on my PowerBook 140. That Star Trek one is not fit for human eyes.

    DOES STEPHANIE KNOW ABOUT THIS?

ALSO, ABOUT THE COMIC: It's better than Ctrl-Alt-Del!

I was actually thinking about the "He who masters Wisdom, Courage and power shall be the fourth".
  • edited November 2007
I'm wondering if that is referring to the rumored fourth peice of the Triforce, the one that controls time? It makes sense, even if the name Triforce implies three.

That just happens to be what I was talking about.

    I don't read Zelda fanfics.
