THe friend conundrum

edited December 2007 in General
Okay, so I have a conundrum for you science guys.

Listen up here, Megan is Married to Ozzie.
Ozzie's daughter is Miranda. Megan refuses to call Miranda her daughter, and I am the family dog. Tell me if I am 14, Megan is 15, Ozzie is 14, and Miranda is 14.
Tell me: a) How can I be typing this if I'm a dog?
b) How can Megan and Ozzie have a girl that young?
c) Depending on the answer to the above, What anamoly causes this freak phenomenon?

I don't have an answer for (a), but my answer to the rest of it is that the whole family is dogs. Ozzie was less than one year old when he impregnated Megan, who then gave birth to Miranda. Megan won't call Miranda her daughter because she's a dog, and dogs can't talk. As for you... nope, my explanation doesn't work. Fun though.

    A) You're the other kind of "dog".
    B) Time travel
    C) A sweet car put in reverse.

    a) You can't be typing this if you are a dog, therefore you are being untruthful and I cannot assume any of your facts are correct.
    b) Who cares? You're a dog and can't type.
    c) See above.

Haha, never assume that the facts given in a logic puzzle are true.

    a) I don't know how you type with boxing gloves on your hands.
    b) Some people just reach puberty earlier than others.
    c) See answer b.

a)You are a fourteen year old dog. You are dead, and can not even clumsily hope that hitting the keys will randomly create a coherent sentence.
    b)Cryogenics
c)If you open all the doors to a sweet car and drive rapidly in reverse, when you brake all the doors will slam shut. This is what scientists refer to as awesome.

It could also be that you are all a bunch of kids playing a game. In which case they are all sort of old for such games, especially Megan. That would also explain why Megan isn't particularly willing to call Miranda her daughter as she likely feels this game is beneath her.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. You could all be in a really boring MMOG.

Gracious Mario. Who said anything about an MM game. Didn't you ever get sucked into playing "house" or some similar pretend crap as a kid? If not consider yourself lucky.

While fourteen is pretty old for a dog, it's by no means unheard of for one to live that long. My first dog was that age when she died.

She may have improved her typing skills by wearing boxing gloves.

    a) <DR>ink.
    b) <DR>ink.
    c) <DR>ink.

Why is this called the friend conundrum?
  • edited December 2007
Tell me if I am 14, Megan is 15, Ozzie is 14, and Miranda is 14.
    (red added for emphasis)

Okay... Do I have to? Well, that sentence is a command... Fine. You are 14, megan is 15, ozzie is 14, and miranda is 14. This must be the case, other wise the other questions would be too easy to answer. Glad I solved that part.

In answer to part A, perhaps the word 'dog' is being used in a different way. Perhaps you're constantly dogging them, finding out about their family situation and ages and whatnot. So you are the family dog in that sense. Kinda strange usage, but it's possible.

Part B, who says that Megan gave birth to Miranda? All we know is that she's Ozzie's daughter. She's likely the daughter of another woman, which is always a point of tension with step-families.

Part C, what anomaly? Divorce and remarriage.

I actually think I've heard this before. I don't remember an answer at all though.

What's that story with the truck full of ping pong balls that spelling 3d used to tell?
  • edited December 2007
you mean once? It was about a kid who spent every birthday, from his 5th to his 21st asking for ping pong balls, then when he was going to show his dad why he needed them, he fell off a cliff.

    a) You're a zombie.
    b) They're zombies.
    c) Lasers.

I would guess that the dog's, Ozzie's, and Megan's age are in dog years and Miranda's age is not.

I think you are an old dog with a new trick.
  • edited December 2007
You are right about the dog having a new trick, but I'm not old! Agentcel, you are right on A, also good on not assuming that all of the facts are true Mario. But I would have thought that you would ask what gender Ozzie is, because that is what makes this a conundrum. Ozzie's real name is Shelby, ans she's a girl. Tis is called the friend conundrum because it's about a group of friends by the way, also I'm so sending this to Megan and seeing what she thinks, because these are some awesome theories.

If she's called Shelby, why did you say Ozzie? You are a liar!

Care to explain (b) and (c)? I was kidding about not believing the facts given in riddles. All the facts need to be assumed true or there's no way to solve a riddle. How can a 14-year old girl have a 14-year old daughter and be married? Your explanation was insufficient.
  • edited December 2007
If you have to ruin it? B) is the obvious adoption, and C) is null under the circumstances. I gave you enough facts, but you overlooked the obvious. Now I was actually given this from Megan and Ozzie, so don't blame me, blame them.
  • edited December 2007
Aw, I was about to say adoption.
  • edited December 2007
I'm sorry, but 14-year old girls are not legal adults and therefore cannot legally adopt. Or marry.
  • edited December 2007
    Well, in most countries anyway.
