Justin Guitar (dot com)

So about once a month I google "free guitar lessons" because I'm an idiot who doesn't realize that using the word "free" in a google search is like posting the words "blacks need not apply" in a help wanted at. All you're going to get is the NAACP knocking down your door. Well, I got lucky (like, super lucky) tonight and a found an actual site with, like, videos and sounds and whatnot, where it's all free. It's not one of those crappy ones where they give you the tablature to "Horse With No Name" and then say you'll have to pay a premium to access everything else. It's one of those use-it-for-free-but-if-you-liked-it-then-pay-me-you-freeloading-jerk sites.

I don't know if anyone else received a guitar from their mother hoping it would turn them not gay one Christmas, learned how to strum a C chord, and then made a song about antisemitism (Jake do you still have that MP3?) only to drop the instrument except for once a month where they pick it up and play The Legendary Theme from Gitaroo Man, but if any of you are in a situation like that, then go to http://www.justinguitar.com/

THE END.

Well hey. I checked out this internet website like you suggested since I consider myself an artist but I noticed that some of the lessons actually require you to purchase a DVD. This doesn't really seem to matter though, because you can still download the PDF associated with the lesson to get through it, albeit without the accompanying sound and companionship that Justin usually includes.

In conclusion, I need to purchase a guitar.

I have no problem with him selling DVDs as premium content, since he actually does provide quite a lot of valuable material for free via YouTube. I've spent quite a bit on professional guitar lessons in the past month and feel like I haven't learned all that much. I worry about cross-contamination of alternate teaching styles, but I may have to peruse this a bit and see what I can learn.
