I love how people act like it's an extra day in their lives. It is, in fact, just another day like any other. The only thing it serves to do is make my wait for Brawl 24 hours longer.

    Brawl ruined Leap Day.

Calling that, Tak, is like bitching about birthdays or Christmas. Sure it's another day, but there is a celebration involved.

    Bonus all round.

For us it was a movie night (plus pretty excessive drinking).

Any example of a 'unique' day is a valid excuse for a party. Rather than the generalised 'day that ends in 'y' parties that we generally have.

This article infuriates me, just because of this sentence:
Though the chance of being born on leap year day is about 1 in 1,500, there are about 4 million leapers worldwide, including many in metro Detroit.

Why would that be presented as a surprising figure?!? 4,000,000 multiplied by 1,500 is 6,000,000,000, which is the number of people in the world. A concessive subordinate clause is completely inappropriate for this sentence, as there is no question of validity! It's confirming the statement they try to use as a concession! It would be like saying "Though I only had nine dimes, I had $0.90." WRONG.

There was an article in the most odious rag, The Daily Sport. It said that we're allowed a day off which is utter tosh.

Some government departments let their workforce have the day off today as a treat, and from there, the plebs extrapolated that we're automatically granted the day off.

One in ten orange belt members agree with mario, and he has roughly 79 people who support him belt wide, giving him only a 10% support rate, which is approximately equivalent to 2 in 20; that is to say that if you asked 30 orange belt members, statistically, you should find that 3 of them support his point, and correspondingly, if you asked forty, should find that four agree while over 30 (36 to be precise) would in fact disagree.

I wholly agree with you, Mario. Thank you for affirming that we are all complete nerds. =D

Weren't leap years implemented in the Julian calendar? I think the Gregorian adjustments were made to compensate for the fact that the year isn't quite 365.25 days long. It's actually a bit shorter, so we don't actually get leap years on years that can be divided by 100 unless they can also be divided by 400 (which is why the year 2000 was a leap year even though the year 2100 won't be.)

    SCIENCE!

    Leap Day is now over.

    Well, how about that?

Leap day is making me wait another day for my first paycheck from work, which is another day I go in debt a little further.

    Wee.

But February is still shorter than the other months. So stop complaining and get some perspective.

EDIT: Huh, that sounded sorta harsh for a dumb joke. My bad.

But it also means that this month's rent was good for a bit longer.

That is true, although I had to pay 6 months rent in advance, so it doesn't feel as good in that light.
