Because eating mathematical functions isn't good for you!

    Pie totally kicks arse though.

    What is Pi day?
  • edited March 2006
    March 14th = 3/14. As in, 3.14.

I think the joke only works in the United States, since many countries display a date as day/month. And there's no fourteenth month.

Someone told me the other day that the true math nerds won't eat their pie until 1:59PM.
  • edited March 2006
Do the true nerds try and eat entire pies in that one minute span?

Because that sounds like a good basis for a 'how many pies can you eat in one minute' competition.

    Pi is exactly 3!

I'll have no "new Simpsons" references in this thread, buster!

Khan! You beat me to saying it! You're too fast.

    Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!

Wasn't that also a nerd joke from Doug?
  • edited March 2006
Could have been. The old Doug on Nickelodeon, or the newer one on that other station?
  • godgod
    edited March 2006
    i hate both of them
  • edited March 2006
Yeah, he never really solved his own problems, things just ended up working out.

Doug was just damn paranoid and lacked self-esteem!
  • edited March 2006
    His friend was green too.

He was probably imprisoned by his sweater-vests. They're the anti-coolness straight-jacket.
  • godgod

which, therefore, makes straight jackets cool.
  • edited March 2006
But then, straight jackets were always cool.
  • edited March 2006
Especially if you could get out of them.
  • godgod
    edited March 2006
but this just adds to their coolness. like a straight jacket of +3 coolness

That makes me go want to watch that movie, with that guy who's seeking the name/number of God, and ends up drilling a hole in his head. Good flick.

I'm gonna do my part to reduce this forum's carbon footprint by merging with the previous Pi Day thread. That doesn't actually make any sense, but it does mean that I am now the starter of this conversation!

Who cares! It's a day with a weak link to an irrational number!
