I will be attending Western Michigan University in the fall!
Hooray! I was a little worried for a while that I would have to go into huge debt to go to grad school, but now I don't have to.
I was waitlisted at Western Michigan University, but they called me today and offered me a position in the M.A. in English program with funding. I'll be getting a stipend and almost complete coverage of my tuition costs. The stuff they don't cover will be more than covered in my stipend, so I basically have a full ride. Plus, I get to teach at least one section of the Freshman composition course every semester.
In addition, my wife will be working full time, and she can provide for our living expenses while I'm in the program. So I get to just concentrate on teaching and researching.
I'm also super pumped because WMU is the location of one of the largest Medieval conferences in the nation every single year. As Medieval Lit is my intended specialization, I'll be right at the epicenter of this huge gathering of Medieval scholars. AND there are several professors in the department who share my research interests... Old English, Chaucer, and Arthuriana. This place seems a perfect fit. I'm visiting in a week.. I'll post more then.
Rockin! I am so pumped right now.

Let's have...
dare I say it?
A sexy man party.
You should pay them tribute and have sex on a pile of Medieval literature.
