Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People!

edited April 2008 in Games
I was having a lot of trouble getting excited about the prospect of WiiWare games that weren't online-ready versions of Dr. Mario.

Then I saw this. Now I'm very excited indeed.

It's gonna be amazing. I hope it's... cheap.

    Cheap as free, I'm guessing.

What about the WiiWare version of Defend your Castle? It looks pretty swank.

Telltale Games sure like their episodic stuff, don't they?

Telltale hasn't released a price yet, but says it will be "in line with [their] other episodic games." The Sam & Max episodes are $8.95 a pop, so even at 1000 Wii Points I'd consider it to be reasonably priced. That would come to 5000 Wii Points for the whole season, and I have to imagine that a season's worth of episodes would be of equal or greater value to a full retail game.

Probably, but my only fear is that the episodes clock in at a total time of 3-5 hours each. 50 bucks for an episodic 15-20 hour game just doesn't appeal to me, especially because it seems like the type of game that would be incredibly linear. I wanna see some actual gameplay before I can consider it, as the kids with their new fangled slang would use, "ballin'."

Other than that, I really crapped myself when I heard of the sheer prospect of a Strongbad game.

I don't like these episodic games, I dislike installing things.

Can't they cram all the games together into one when they've gotten through a season?

I'm pretty sure they will, since they did so with Sam & Max, but you probably won't be able to WiiWare yourself the bundle. The game will be on PC as well, though, so I imagine some discount bundle will be available therein.

The season may end up being short and linear, but it sounds like they'll be peppering in enough extra goodies to add some replay value, like the arcade games and e-mails. They'll even have a mode for making your own Teen Girl Squad comics!
