Restraint and Lunar

edited April 2008 in Comics
Bruce's posting of his poem and our resulting conversation inspired me to dig out these two poems I wrote a couple of years ago and post them for all to see. Hope you enjoy.

Restraint

You never held back...until you found me...
And they moved you without effort,
But I breathe against a face of stone.
You loom...weaving the fabric of my
Dreams. Your eyes are crisp, deep, cool
Pools, singeing my flesh. I melt amidst
An orgy of pain and pleasure, reduced to
My basest elements. But against the
Backdrop of shaded forests, both dead
And alive, alternately, I try to be
More like you. Stone-faced, and reeling.

Lunar

Gravestone, the sky a silent, clarion call.
My heart goes out to you, juggernaut.
Your tears enshroud you, piercing
The darkness, but for what? Respite
From loneliness, arms stretching, reaching
For someone, someone. Static arms.
Frozen. Keep crying. No one will come
For you. Farewell, juggernaut, Gravestone.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: These poems are superb, the emotion in them is clearly strong and you present them brilliantly. These are truly wonderful. I hope you write more.

Woah dude, I think our souls just connected...

    That's awesome!

You're lucky. There's a lot more people that can draw well than write well.
