Is there anything special in the way they prepare this chocolate-covered bacon, or can I just fry some bacon, melt some chocolate chips and make my own?
The people at Marini's said the product is shipped to them from central HQ ready-made, so I assumed them to be unfamiliar with the process. However, that RiffTrax Blog entry included a link to someone's instructions for spinning your own CCB. Looks like it is indeed as simple as cooking bacon, paper toweling the excess grease, then dipping it in melted chocolate chips. Now I can't help but wonder if the homemade version tastes any good. The sprinkles are certainly an interesting twist.
Actually, they were both failures, which comes to suggest that bacon is indeed awesome on it's own, and it's almost impossible to make unconventional combinations with. Really, it's more a work in progress if anything.

It tasted like arse.
Oh yes.
I've not yet worked up the courage to combine bacon with anything else. Some day...
