Imagine my surprise upon checking my Apple RSS feeds when I found this little gem!

It's a pixel image editor with layer support, as well as all sorts of goodies that make it the perfect sprite creation tool! I like the ability to quickly apply a background to see how it looks in different contexts, the Smart Palettes feature (when you change a color in your palettes, the colors in the document also change), the alignment crosshairs for precision pixellatin', and the ability to map a second tool to the right-click. I'm gonna be playing with this extensively for some upcoming custom sprites in Zelda Comic, but I thought everyone else should know about it too.
Oh yeah, Mac OS X-only. But it is open-source, so I suppose someone could try to compile it on another platform. That's beyond my scope though.
