Upcoming project!
Alright peeps, here's the skinny. It's been quite a few months since last year's NaNoWriMo where I worked on that choose your own adventure story. While doing it I figured out a bunch of things to streamline the process, along with the limitations of doing the project in html.
So, a few days ago I was playing BRAD: the game again on my cell phone and thinking about my project and about how daunting it would be to finish it, just because of the sheer scope of the thing.
I was thinking how I could streamline what I had and fix it up so I could work on it better, the wiki format came to mind, formatting is easy, you can easily link to and create new pages, add categories for organization, have one overall layout that everything is placed into, and best of all it's all put in a database instead of hundreds and hundreds of individual html pages.
Then, I was like "Hell, if it's in a wiki, why don't I just make it a community thing? That's what wikis are for, right?"
I was going to start looking into how customizable mediawiki is and setting it up, starting out with the mods until some content is in there, then opening it up to the forums, then to everyone.
What do you guys think? Interested? Stupid idea doomed to fail?
I was thinking of calling it "Wiki Your Own Adventure"
