Look in the past!

edited July 2009 in General
This is relevant to those of you who were here for the birth of this version of the OB (end of January '06). But it can be entertaining for everyone else too.

I went back and started reading through the oldest threads, and the threads that were first forgotten and pushed to the back of the archives.

It is a strange feeling to look back in the past. Do you all remember what you were doing 31 months ago when you made those posts? I do.

Also with forums, it is difficult to notice when people leave, because most of them never formally make an announcement. You just notice after a while that someone hasn't posted in a while, if you notice at all. There are different names that ring in the back of my mind that I had almost forgotten.

Read through the back end of the archives. They are quite fulfilling and nostalgic!

I'd rather not. I pretty much hate reading any of my old posts before a certain point, I was kind of like the majority of the people who join the moment mario updates and never leave the ZC forum, only I did.

People who kinda disappear? You mean kinda like Stef? Or perhaps Jon? And all the other people who aren't admins/moderators?

Well Lang had just posted again. Those old people do come back and show up again sometimes.

    Yeah. Like me.

Jon's had spotty access to the Internet for awhile now. I've heard on the grapevine that this situation may change in the next few months.

Every now and again I'll look at old threads as webcrawlers pull them up in Currently Active Users. It's odd looking at these conversations as if they just happened.

Booyah! Sadly, none of the subforums are archived, but it still brings back memories.

Don't feel too bad Brandon. I can't draw comedic enterprises either!

In the past, everything was black and white. They didn't invent color until about 2006...

    ...wait, what?

That's not true! We knew Inksandwich all too well!

Heh. It's funny because the StV forum had more posts in it than all the rest put together.
  • edited August 2008
Wait... When the fuck was the inksandwich main page orange?

Now, for those of you who don't know, I was there for 99% of the existence of the inksandwich boards and I have to say I have no idea when that happened. Seriously, wtf?

I like that I had the last post in my own forum, that was epic. Ok, so it wasn't, I'd locked the frickin thing so nobody else could post. I was so emo back then.

    Was good times, though, truly.

Agree'd. Those forums birthed some funny conversations.

Indeed. Not a day goes by I don't miss Inksandwich.

By the way, I've seen Mr. Cheeze around the MSPA fora. I could probably lure him here if you cared that much.
