WII MUSIC IS SO AWESOME ITS HOLDING DOWN MY CAPS KEY

edited March 2009 in Games
Seriously, go get wii music. Now. I did! For me, it's like Guitar Hero but more my style, since I play the piano and everything. I actually beat the tar out of this guy and got a perfect score conducting the Zelda theme! I guess I just pwn at conducting. This game looks easy, but it's actually pretty hard. Ignore the negative reviews and get it! Anyone else get it?

Sorry Carter, you know how it is when people make spelling/grammar mistakes.

Its: The possessive adjective and possessive pronoun form of the personal pronoun it. For example: I have a Horse. Its cock is huge.

It's: A contraction of it is or it has. For example:Did you see that Horse Cock? It's huge!

Carter, have you ever been in an orchestra type situation where you're actually being conducted? I just watched the video, and that is NOTHING like conducting. I couldn't even follow it :-/

Funny story about how conducting isn't just waving a stick around to keep the beat! The school orchestra I was in was asked to play for a children's christmas show in a performance hall in the area, we were just going to play a few christmas songs the kids could sing along to, and then at the end play Sleigh Ride and have Santa Claus come out and conduct the orchestra. The kids would get a kick out of that, right? So, we go through the whole concert, it's running smoothly, and good ol' Santa comes out, and walks up and starts waving his baton around, putting on a good show. The orchestra immediately starts falling apart... the hall is way too huge to try to listen to each other to keep up, we haven't rehearsed many times, and Santa has no friggin idea what he's doing. My orchestra director had to stand below and under Santa (off stage) to conduct in order for us to get back together and finish the song correctly.

Fun times. Conducting is really hard!

EDIT! Not saying the game is bad, just saying it's conducting part of it doesn't look very good!

Yeah, conducting is a bitch, especially cueing. You need to be dead on or the whole piece goes out of whack. It's hard as hell.

Sorry, but I'm not gonna buy a music game that uses midi files instead of real music.

Another funny conducting story, band practice is at the end of they day. In the last 10 minutes of class the principal comes in and talks with the director a bit. After that, she says she'd like to try and conduct the National Anthem. Apparently she's conducted before or something, so she kinda knows what she's doing; she should at least be able to keep time. Now the National Anthem is in 3/4 time, but the principal counts off four beats and then starts conducting in 4/4 time. The song lasts for about a measure before becoming the worst train wreck I've ever heard.

I hate having subs in orchestra for that very reason! NONE of them can actually count. One lady could play piano along with us, but she refused to actually tell us which measure she was in. She'd just tell us the lyrics to the song. I didn't know the song so I couldn't tell where in the world we were, and she yelled at me for being in the wrong spot. Once again, I HATE orchestra subs.

ARGH too many annoyingly abrupt tempo changes!

    Wow...

I picked up Wii Music for cheap today (Hurrah for a major retailer going bust!) and I must say, I think Carter is right. It's damn awesome. Certainly the midi music grates and the note detection can be a bit spotty, but on the whole, it's like Wii Sports: It makes you look like a tit, but it's fun, but only if playing in a group or you're being spectated :D

Well, most Wii games that heavily rely on Motion Controls make you look like a fool. Just like Guitar Hero does.

I don't think flailing is required for Guitar Hero.

But pounding and whirring buttons up and down while shaking the controller from a vertical to a horizontal level while occasionally toggaling a lever does look foolish, especially if you play acoustic like that one kid from that one south park episode.
