Agentcel Flash Movie Project 2009

edited February 2009 in Comics
Okay, I've got a new computer for Christmas, as you guys probably have heard. It's a Macbook, what I've always wanted. And...a new computer means a new... ADOBE FLASH TRIAL FOR 30 DAYS! Woohoo! I might actually be able to come up with something this time...I haven't started the trial yet, because I'm going to get drawings/ ideas/ script/ voices all finalized before I even download the trial. So! I will make you a promise:

I Agentcel, will have a completely awesome Flash Movie completed to the best of my ability by the end of 2009.

"What?!" you say, "a whole frikkin year?". Well hey, good things take a good amount of planning and design. Even though the trial's only a month, I'll spend the other 11 months planning, designing, and all that good stuff. I hope that the end result will be something truly amazing that I will be able to look back upon with great fondness. This is it. This is I proving myself as an artist. I can do it. And I'm bringing you guys along for the ride. This is what I've always wanted to do. It all comes down to this.

Now, for my flash movie's main topic. I want a vote from you guys. I want it to either be about The Legend of Zelda series, or Smash Bros.

Help me decide, and maybe even give a little moral support!

^.^

~Voice Cast~
Mario-
Link-
Zelda-
Peach-
Voshi-
Roy- Voltage
Ganondorf-
Samus-
Pit-
Luigi-
Fox-
Kirby-

I'm sure I'll remember other important characters when I think about it.

Honestly I feel like both games have been thoroughly lampooned and explored in the Flash animation medium, but if I have to choose... Smash Bros.! I'm always up for game crossover good times.

Smash Bros is much more likely to have pichus. Do that one.

Smash Bros. Does have a wider cast to work with to produce some more interesting scenarios, so I'll give it a vote as well.

Also, try not to put TOO much pressure on yourself to produce something too great. 30 days isn't really all that long unless you know the program quite well and have a lot of time to sit and work with it. You still got college to do neat stuff in yet.

I don't care what subject it is, just as long as I get a gratuitous man-crotch shot.

Snake and Captain Falcon are ideal for man-crotch shots.

If Orange Beltians get to be Smash characters, I would totally call Roy. You know, if I'm taken into consideration.

Actually, I'll start signup for voices now. I don't have a microphone, so I thought you guys could chip in. Later on I'll send you the script, and then if you have a microphone, just record the audio, and send it back to me.

I'll keep the cast on the first post.

What sort of gear do we need to participate? Mics, video cameras, webcams, what? This could be a problem, because I don't think I have any of that.
  • edited January 2009
I have the necessary equipment to join in... And i'm looking forward to it!

EDIT: For the next 2 weeks i will have use of a professional voice-over studio for any work i need to get done... I could get a pro sound for free so if you have anything for me to voice just let me know...
(Possibly the announcers voice or something like that...)

    Just a mic, that's all.

I might be able to do voices. I have a knack for doing high pitched voices and the like, might be able to put that to use for kirby or something.

Oh snaps, I don't have a mic. What kinds are recommended?
  • edited January 2009
    I volunteer for voices!

MY COMPUTER IS FIXED FOR NOW SO I AM UP FOR ANYONE. WHY ARE WE YELLING!?
  • edited January 2009
I volunteer for voices on ONE condition - ganondorf has to say "aaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!" at least once per episode.
  • edited January 2009
Ok, ok, Ganondorf can say that.

What's the trial version of flash? CS4 Professional? Premium? Etc? I don't know much about it and would...like to know more.

I use Flash CS3 Professional at work almost every day. I still only know actionscript 2, but I know it quite well.

Looking at the new features in CS4 makes me drool a little. Object-based animation? A Motion editor? Inverse kinematics?! Bones?!
    ...
    $700? :(

I also need to learn Actionscript 3 really badly.

    I do? O_O
  • edited January 2009
You do, though the quality may leave something to be desired. Works great for audio chats and the like, but background noise will be readily apparent in recordings. You can certainly give it a try though, see if it suits your needs.

Every mac does. All you can see is a dot but you still can record. (unless it is a mac book from the 1990's)
  • edited January 2009
There were no MacBooks in the 1990s. Also, almost every PowerBook ever made had a built-in microphone.

I have a Dell Vostro, and I discovered last month, like a year after I bought it, that it has a mic built in.

Sorry I became an apple fan two years ago and haven't really studied them. (plus I was only four in 1999)

I know my Thinkpad has a mic, as I've used i before. But I've never been able to find where the hell the thing is physically located on my laptop.
