Jailbreak!

edited February 2009 in General
Hey guys.

I am currently on my way to guildford, in SE England. The reason for this is that I am to participate in a jailbreak for charity.

What is a jailbreak? Essentially it's where you try to get as far away from the starting point as possible in 24 hours. The catch is that you may not spend a penny of your own money. P It might sound like you won't get far, but some peeps last year got to NY and back.

We intend to head in the other direction, make the continent.

The point of this post is just so I can keep you guys abreast of the news.

Will report in soon :)

This sounds so cool :) I don't suppose you're allowed to use photoshop to win.

If they do anything to make sure you went where you say you did I bet it would be a GPS tracker of some kind, not a picture.

Don't go to Bratislava! If modern American films are any indication, they will kill you for bubblegum there. :(

Couldn't make Paris. New plan! We're back in England, gonna try to nab eurostar to Paris for free. Slept in the streets of Calais last night since by the time we arrived the hotels were closed.

    Wish is luck!

How does your getting as far as possible from somewhere gets money for charity?

Maybe it's like a walkathon? My guess is that Bruce gets a few people to sponsor him, and they'll pledge to donate a set amount of money for every kilometer or something.

Like maybe 1 pound for every 10km: if he travels 150 km out, then his donor will donate 15 pounds. If he gets three or four people, then he's got 45 or 60 pounds.

This is entirely guesswork. I could be totally wrong.

    Sponsorship!

Failure :( Tickets to Paris denied. Decide to call it a day, getting to Calais for free was good enough, couldn't be added trying planes with little sleep and smelling like particularly sweaty goats.

    Full report coming ASAP.

That was wonderful. What city where you in at first, before Waterloo. That place was beautiful.

Me too!! Cept I'd be afraid I'd be raped and murdered. If I were a boy I'd feel a lot better trying to nab some free rides from people. Maybe if I ever did something like this, I would just carry pepper spray around with me. Problem solved!

You're meant to go in groups of either two or three and have either boy/girl or boy/boy/girl, never girl only groups. Plus men are meant to get in a hitcher's car first and get out last.
