The Year 2012: The End?

edited March 2009 in General
Crazy Mexicans? Stoned magicians? Old Greek Hags? TEH INTERWEBS? What do all of these have in common (sounds like a good one for the joke thread). They apparently all say (maybe) that we're boned in 2012 (or close to it). This video made me kind of distressed, thinking if all this could really add up. Here's part 1 of a YouTube History Channel special, if you're interested I think it gives you related videos after playing (then you can watch the other parts). So, you think we're all gonna get pwned by pole shifting? Or are the crazy conspirators at it again?

Does it really matter one way or the other if it really turns out to be the end? I wouldn't bank on it. The second you do it'll turn out the Mayans just stopped at that point on their calender arbitrarily and that nothing is really going to end after all. Then what will you do?

Don't give doomsday predictions too much credit. The guys who wrote the Bible thought the world would end in their lifetimes and sure enough it did...for them. 'Cause they died. Funny how that works isn't it?

But this time there's actual potential for a polar shift. Could set off a few major faults and super volcanoes. If it actually does set off that Yellowstone super volcano, you're basically guaranteed the immediate destruction of North America with a good chance of an early ice age. That's why I'm not going nuts to try and pay off all my debt until after I know I'll still have to.

    EDIT OF:
I had one major problem with that special. They had these "web spiders" or something that they used as like, super extra conclusive new evidence that the world will end on said date. the spiders work by making predictions based on trends they pick up by monitoring all of the internet. HOWEVER! those predictions they make about the end of the world are obviously because the predictions for 2012 already existed and was found online from numerous sources.

So far, doomsday predictions have a pretty bad track record, with the fact that we're here as evidence. The only situation I've heard regarding 2012 that seems possible is the magnetic pole shift. That would do a lot of damage if, as I have heard from one or two sources, there is a period in between where we have no magnetic field, exposing us to solar radiation. I'm really not sure if thats true though, or if it will be present the whole time.

Edit: Ah, seems like Adam knows a bit more about this than me. How does the shift influence earthquakes and vocanoes?

Just about any kind of prediction of armageddon that references something as old as the Mayans, the Bible, Nostrodamus, can be safely discarded. If anything does happen it will most likely be due to much more modern causes.

Although I have no idea what the video says. I just saw the first few seconds and decided it was based on backasswards speculation. I'll watch it later when I'm off work.

Edit: Magnetic shifts? I think I saw something about that recently. I have to figure out where. I think it discarded that rumor too.

I'm no scientist, but I believe there are 2 or 3 possibilities. One is just the reversal of the magnetic poles, this supposedly happens every many many thousands of years; as evidenced by various igneous rock formations over time showing the allignment of the magnetic rock switching every so often. this doesn't seem to have any major conseqences. I said polar shift before but i meant axis shift. this has supposedly happened a couple of times and this is what would maybe cause it problem. It would either make the earth slowly change it's north and south poles by several degrees (like the north pole would be greenland now and the south pole just off the coast of Australia) and the climate would adjust accordingly over time and there'd be some funny nterim crop failures and rivers rerouting and general annoying stuff. The bad thing that could happen would be if when it changes it caused a rapid shift. The Earth is all liquidy with a thin layer of crunchy. If you have a bowel of soup that got cold and has that disgusting skin on top and you suddenly spin the bowel or just turn it slightly fast, you'll crack the layer on the surface. That's what'd happen to us. I think the axis shift would only happen if there was a sudden magnetic yoink that sort of pulled the magnetic pole over a little.

Which part is nonsensical? And don't worry, just 3.75 years to go.

As many know, on December 21, 2012 ("2012 galactic alignment") at 11:11am GMT, the Winter Solstice Sun will conjunct with the one of the most prominent"dark rifts" or interstellar dust formations of the Milky Way and the ecliptic (path of the sun, moon and planets) to form a galactic cross. Within this prominent dark rift or equator of the Milky Way lays a supermassive black hole, which is composed of several black holes. This alignment will act as a galactic acupressure and continue to charge, align and open intra-universal wormholes to the Christed Universe. The Milky Way Galaxy lies within the Christed Universe, so the wormholes are intra-universal rather than inter-universal.

The Christed Universe resonates at the PAX-AUM vibration, eternal peace, compassion and love. The term Christed means the vibration of PAX-AUM. The beings from the Christed Universe are incredibly loving, compassionate and wise. They work at the universal level to aid all of the galaxies within the Christed Universe to fully integrate and coalesce with the web-light schematics of eternal peace, compassion and love. The Milky Way is coalescing with the web-light schematics of The Christed Universe. Consequently, the 2012 galactic alignment not only means a spiritual cleansing and awakening for earth and her sentient beings, but also takes the Milky Way Galaxy closer to galactic intra-graduation or integration with the Christed Universe.

For earth, this alignment is a linear galactic alarm clock that directly aligns and makes the energy of the Christed Universe more accessible to earth through these intra-universal wormholes. These wormholes that are being charged, aligned and opened surround planet earth. These specific intra-universal wormholes are bridges to the Christed Universe and sources of cosmic transmutation. They are comprised of (1) black holes that pull in and collapse the third dimensional linear time-space continuums that seed illusions and fear, and (2) also white holes that simultaneously transmute and eject the cosmic pax-aum rays. The wormholes are currently being and have been charged, aligned and opened because there are several sentient master-beings that have and continue to access this alignment and connect to the Christed Universe to transmute on a cosmic level and release the transmissions of the cosmic pax-aum rays.

On December 21, 2012 the charging, aligning and opening of intra- universal wormholes to the Christed Universe will automatically take place, as this has already been agreed to and willed. The transmissions from the Christed Universe will continue to increase with the inevitable expansions of the pull or event horizon of the black holes to collapse the third dimensional linear time-space continuum ("fear matrix") that seed illusions and fear. The fear matrix that has required change mainly through hardship and pain will also be transmuted as these concepts are antithetical to the Christed cosmic schematics that the earth (and as stated the Milky Way) is aligning herself with. This means that environmental releases-disasters on earth will greatly lessen and eventually become obsolete rather than increase.

Because linear time is an illusion the 2012 galactic alignment can be intentionally accessed today to transmute density, dispel the layers or seeds of fear and third dimensional illusions, realize healing and activations on various levels, learn-remember our process(es) of integrating our solar light bodies and many other amazing educational-remembrance purposes.

Begin to develop an intentional knowingness that you can traverse-bend time and space, and attempt to do so when you are in a relaxed trance state. However, to access the 2012 galactic alignment you must enter through your sacred heart and radiate this brilliant knowingness through your crown chakra like a diamond laser that shoots into the dark rift of the Milky Way.

Going to sacred places on earth that aligned, marked and harnessed this galactic alignment is also another very powerful way to learn about the 2012 galactic alignment. The ancient Maya was one group of peoples that collaborated and shared cosmological information with other Indigenous groups to learn about, access, mark and harness the energies from various cosmic alignments. Their cities are calendrical cities where much can be learned about various cosmic alignments, including the 2012 galactic alignment. For example, the Mayan ballcourts tell and mark the stories of the 2012 galactic alignment. It is no coincidence that the quincunx shaped plate typically in the middle of the Mayan ballcourts with the two adjacent rings on the sides of the ballcourt resembles the shape of a wormhole.

Within these next three years make an effort to go to one of these sacred places and consciously attune yourself to the energies of the 2012 galactic alignment.

Bah, everyone knows that the world is actually going to end on January 19, 2038.
  • edited March 2009
Eh, I'm not going to worry about it. There have been tons of predictions about the world ending, or some sort of horrible destruction where everyone will die. My mom and I have talked about it, and it just seems like society likes something to worry about. People can make movies about it, create television shows, crazy people (and some not-so-crazy people) can obsess over it, and... whenever it blows over and it turns out to be false, people move onto the next fear to worry about.

My mom said for her time, it was the cold war. When that fear ended, it was Y2K. Now it's this business about 2012.

I certainly hope the world doesn't end!! I was kinda hoping to live out a nice long life. I won't even have kids by then! I probably won't be out of GRAD SCHOOL. I'ma be pissed if I go through that much school and I don't even get to do anything with it. Shit.
  • edited March 2009
Y2K was the best anticlimax ever. I remember watching the news, and the best they had was a library in Australia losing its power.

Over 2 years is longer than 9 months! You still have time.

I remember Y2K. There was an old computer in my room that suddenly thought it was 1979. I simply corrected the date and life went on.

You know what's scarier than 2012? The fact that some people are actually convinced by these theories. I guess we're just going to have to take an entire year with a grain of salt.
  • edited March 2009
I'm kind of curious as to how everyone thinks the world will end. hyper-vulcanism (the volcano sort)? Meteors? Rain o' Babies?

I'm expecting the world to end some time in my mid-30's, by Jesus descending from heaven and deciding to clean this place up.

    Really?

I'm going to stay blissfully ignorant and live my life like I have the full potential to live til... oh... about 80 or so.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by the world ending. Do you mean the death of (almost) all humans and the end of civilization, a mass extinction that causes the evolutionary process to from the beginning, or the Earth's destruction?
  • edited March 2009
Some people think it's a new beginning, though... maybe a spin-off after the end of Heroes?

I expect Earth2.0 to be much like the Earth of today, except there will be more shiny, pastel colors and rounded edges.
