Your life outside the internet

edited April 2009 in General

Let us try!

Not pictured are the Cosmos seeds, which are on top of my desk's cupboards. Felt having the cat in the picture was more important than the seeds, and the puss wouldn't sit still.

Cosmos Seeds: My favourite plant, I devote my summer to the growing and tending of Cosmos. I also plant vegetables, strawberries, and eat copious amounts of raspberries.
Awesome Books: I have an hour long commute each way to work. I bring along a good book. Pictured, you can see A Perfect Red (the history of cochineal), Battle Royale in Japanese and English both, Clan of the Cave Bear, Diana Gabaldon's Outlander. Eragon I haven't read yet, nor the sexy red book.
Sewing Machine: I have been a slave to it for the last two months. I like to make things.
Painting: I painted this cow four or five years ago, it was my first acrylic. I've done a few since then, and hope to do more. If not painting, I draw.
Rock Cabochons: Yet another art form, I grind rocks once a week at rock club. You can't tell, but there's Thulite, Jade, Chrysoprase, Serephenite, Rhodonite, Amazonite, Larimar, Sodalite, Ocean Picture, Labradorite, Montana Agate, Moss Agate, and a silver cast in there. Also, a seashell from my roadtrip through Pensacola, FL.
Pretty Skirt: I wear this one to work sometimes! I love pretty skirts. I dream of them.
Shakey the Cat: My very best feline friend. She's napping on my bed right now waiting for me to finish on the computer.
Japanese Cookbook: I love to bake. And I love Japanese home cooking. I use the pink DS (pictured) to puzzle through my recipes in order to create the perfect Omurice or Melon Pan.

And now that I think of it, I probably should've added a piano piece. Curses!

Perfect for those occasions in which you feel like wrecking a city, but you want to look formal doing it.

Tanya, I am stationed not half an hour from Pensacola, FL. The beaches here are beautiful!

John, are you really !! Lucky you (except for the lack of winter, hurricanes, and sudden rainstorms.)

The beaches are beautiful, but I was there when the hurricane warning was up, so we did not get much closer than wet feet and brown seafoam blown onto my white skirt (arrghh.)

I grew up in the north east US, so I love snow. There's something magical about walking outside at 3 in the morning after a fresh snowfall. Nobody's been out yet. It's white as far as the eye can see. There are no footprints. The snow hasn't been plowed. The earth SPARKLES. It's beautiful.

    ...no homo.

In one image? This is tough for me. I could maybe take a picture of my desk at work...

I'll try to get something up later this week.

Tonight I am going to see Jay Leno's free standup at the Pontiac Silverdome.

Apparently Kid Rock showed up at the one he did last night, and people were quite happy with Leno's act, so I'm looking forward to it.
