Pichu is a piece a crap in my opinion. Just about all of his attacks damage him. I always have him as my opponet when I play ssbm. He's fun to beat up. The developers of ssbm must have added Pichu at the last minute or something.
I always wondered, does Pichu actually have any advantages over Pikachu besides being smaller? I hardly used him, but it didn't seem like his attacks were any more powerful despite damaging himself.
Pichu's faster, stronger, and in my opinion just has better attacks.
Also, if you can hit an opponent with a fully charged B-forward, it's one of the most damaging attacks in the game. I think only Bowser's forward smash attack deals a higher percentage.
Huh, that's weird. That happened at my friend-with-benefit's house when I brought over my copy of Pokemon Battle Revo, since she thought she could finally beat me. But for some reason, the wii wouldn't recognize the disc. It doesn't do the same thing with other discs, just Battle Revo. The game also works perfectly on my wii.
Not really, I just don't know what else to call her. I could call her ex but that just seems too cold. I can't call her girlfriend because that's just inaccurate.
I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt, but I'm surprised and annoyed that no one acknowledged Hlav's declaration of this threads complete obsolete-ness. Especially Pickle, who seemed to ignore it completely.
I vote we go through and delete some of these repetitive threads. we already have a general Brawl thread, and I'm sure it's acceptable to speak of melee in its borders. Like an old dead culture compared to a more modern counterpart. Old England to new Britain. We're good with it and we don't need any extra threads with no premise besides '/thread dicuss.'
Or, you know, you could just get over it since no one else is making a big deal out of it.
Scott, you probably could have said "friend" instead of "friend-with-benefits" and it would have been just fine
No one mentioned that Pichu is just way damn cuter than Pikachu. The goggles are also awesome, but Pichu helps destroy and girls who were playing since it gives a distraction bonus.
Melee I was loyal to Shiek and Zelda, but never got used to the differences in timing in Brawl so now I use Kirby whenever I happen to be playing. I'm still pretty horrible though.
Have you read any of these other threads? RCS and I are practically the only people who have given him any leeway in any regard! I just find Hlavco's argument of, 'we already have at least 10 other threads devoted to these games and this one is redundant and sort of useless,' to be very convincing. I'm sure some of this discussion has been enlightening in some regard, but we don't need the evidence to remember that Pichu pwns.
Kirby isn't really that bad of a character. He ranks 13th on the current SSBB tier list. Which is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT because he is ranked 25th in the SSBM tier list. I don't really use him much in Melee and Brawl.
In N64 I use Kirby and Ness, rarely Pikachu.
In Melee I use Pichu and Ness, sometimes Mario and I've been having fun with Bowser lately. Melee killed Kirby completely.
In Brawl I use Lucario and Ness, sometimes Pikachu. Brawl ruined Mario pretty bad, but Kirby's good again.
In all three games I'm competent with Link, which is weird since I hardly use him at all.
Tiers are a natural occurrence in fighting games, but if a fighting game is actually good, then a player's own skill will make far more difference than what tier their character is.

I'm not in here all the time, as I would like, so it's been harder to keep track of stuff across the forums.
If you come across pointlessly necro'd/recreated threads just PM me or one of the other mods, and we'll lock/delete.
I'll leave this one up, people seem to be discussing your crazy pokeymans and such. Damn kids.

Can you explain what a tier is? I always hear people talking about them but I never have a clue what they are...
A "tier" is an informal ranking system for which characters are considered the "best". This ranking system is usually determined by how easy it is to win and be good with certain characters. In other words, it's a matter of how balanced a game is.
A top tier character will be a character that is easy to learn, does a lot of damage, has combos that are deadly and easy enough to execute, etc. A low tier character will be the opposite. Top tier characters are easy to win with, low tier characters are hard. Usually.
But if a fighting game is considered balanced, then the tiers won't really make a big difference. I don't know Smash Bros tiers, I don't play it much here, but let's say hypothetically Kirby is at the top and Ness is at the bottom. If the game is balanced, then a well played Ness will still beat a poorly played Kirby. If the game is inbalanced, then a button mashing Kirby player will win more often than they should.
my Brawl disk stopped working completely inexplicably. There are no visible scratches or smudges, but my Wii never recognizes it.
To respond to this, Brawl is one of the only wii games that is dual layer. Some Wiis have trouble reading dual layer games. I think Nintendo offered a free repair thing for this sort of issue. I'd look into that.

I could have, but then it wouldn't have been descriptive enough to relay the general idea of my relationship to this person to my own personal liking!

Also, Olimar owns everyone's face.
