thesixtyone
I meant to post this a while back when I first found out about it after it went live, but for some reason I never made an account until yesterday.
Anyway, I've never been huge on buying CDs or downloading music because I am a lazy guy. I use last.fm a lot because you can stream random stuff from groups and if you find one that's along your interest you tend to get stuff you like, but I never cared all that much for the last.fm website.
So, yesterday I signed up for thesixtyone. The site is a project of one of the members of the Something Awful forums and it's really good.
I like it more than any other music streaming site I've found so far for a couple reasons:
There's other stuff too, feel free to check it out. And sign up with my referral link so I can get a portion of your delicious experience.

I like it more than any other music streaming site I've found so far for a couple reasons:
- The music player continues to stream uninterrupted while you browse the site.
- You get experience listening to music and can do little quests to get experience that make you listen to stuff you might not have considered otherwise.
- There is a TON of stuff I've never heard before on here.
- You can scrobble to last.fm all the stuff you listen to on here.
- There's a Creative Common's section where everything is free to download.
- All the music on the site is free to listen to, with an option to buy, artists get the lion's share of the profits from the sale of their music.
- Only artists can upload their own music so there are no issues regarding intellectual property rights. If the music is on the site the artist put it there.
There's other stuff too, feel free to check it out. And sign up with my referral link so I can get a portion of your delicious experience.
