Thank you. I never noticed before, but every time I get up or move around, the first thing I'd do was pet the kitty. I keep turning around and starting to reach for where she should be. She was always nearby, either on my lap or on the bed or on the floor right next to me.
I woke up yesterday to the sound of a panicking mouse stuck in a spider trap. I had to move the thing while it crapped itself in terror looking at me and squeaking. Then I had to knock it out and drown it cause we don't want mice in our house or outside in our yard breeding.
I have never felt more sympathy for an animal. It was crappy to say the least.
I'd feel bad, but I once had to bash a dying kitten with a shovel to put it down. I'd feel less shitty about killing a mouse. It's a normal response though. I mean I feel bad about crushing most bugs. Except mosquitoes. Those blood-sucking bastards can die.
Kitten vs. car engine is a sadly predictable result. A shovel was collected for the burial part, but served as a functional implement for hastening the inevitable.
Well, I guess there was that other case when an older cat did the same thing but successfully rode in the engine for several miles before being safely extracted from the engine unharmed and returned home. That was just weird.
Roseanne Barr did not win her bid for presidency. Despite only finding out she was running shortly after Obama's acceptance speech, and not even being from the USA, I am disappointed, America. You welcomed her into your home throughout the 90's, she made you laugh, and you throw away all your votes on less worthy candidates.
