Avatar of the month

edited September 2014 in Arts and Crafts
I remember this from IS, and all the talk in the success thread has reminded me of it.

Who wants to play this game again?

I was never there in IS days... what is it?
  • edited November 2009
Each month we have a theme and we set our avatars (Or modify existing ones) to fulfil that theme.

    Sounds good.

How're we deciding the themes? A vote? Moderator overlord chooses?
  • edited November 2009
Voting would take time and be silly. I'd think we just have people offer suggestions for themes to form a list and appoint someone to pick one for each month.

    sounds interesting

How it worked in the IS days is that somebody would change their avatar, a second person would copy them being funny, and then everyone else would jump on the bandwagon. Good times were had by all.

A lot like that box strike and all the space stuff we had on the OB here at one point.

Well, since Lauren has already been turned into a British gentleman of the Empire, why don't we make that our first avatar theme?
  • edited November 2009
We did that a while back, already.

it was actually my friend who joined and then never posted past the first day that started it, and it just kinda stuck for me.

Too bad I don't have the same computer I had when I was on inksandwich. Actually, the images I used for my avatar are probably still on the computer that's in my room at my parent's house... I could try to find them and upload them, but it would have to be at Thanksgiving cuz I don't think I'm going home anytime before that.

Does anyone else have left over images of what their avatars used to be? I just dug around my photobucket account, and among the very oldest images I could find this...
    redlauren2.jpg

    and this...
    freaky.jpg

I dunno if I ever actually used that second one as an avatar, but I know I used the original picture from it to put on the head fins and lazor eyes and other such things.

I probably have every avatar I ever used somewhere on this computer.

I wish I still had my party hard avatar.
  • edited November 2009
Ok, how 'bout our first theme is cliche anime/manga style stuff, and then our second can be our interpretation of the phrase "naked bear."
  • edited November 2009
    Sounds good to me.

I like it. Let's do this.

I was going to give myself a harem of fourteen year old girls with the bodies of twenty year olds, but this seemed easier.

Oldest one I could find. How ironic that the filename is "pichunew".

My overall first avatar ever was: 2585, but with a blue border around it for some reason.

hahahaha Adam I remember that christmas one. Very awesome.
  • edited November 2009
What the hell is your avatar anyway, Adam?
  • edited November 2009
    It's clearly a ninja babble.
  • edited November 2009
It's a metal slug. Only not actually metal.
  • edited November 2009
It's an enemy from a game designed to help people learn Japanese.
  • edited November 2009
Oh, it's from that game that Adam liked that I never played.

    This is fun!

I still think next month should be christmas themed...
  • edited November 2009
Agreed. But it has to be a bit more interesting... maybe robot christmas? zombie christmas? REPTILE OVERLORD CHRISTMAS?
  • edited November 2009
    Socialist Christmas
