The 3rd Annual Desert Bus for Hope gaming charity marathon has begun!

(Would'a put this in the SCIENCE! forum, but it doesn't seem to get much attention anymore, and this deserves it.)

So a bunch of geeks hit right on a control pad for awhile and this raises money while I get to watch a live feed of a bunch of people throwing annoying internet sayings at each other?

That would be the case if they were idiots, instead you get to ask questions, see them interview and hang out with Yahzee, Wil Wheaton, and Jonathan Coulton over the phone, and hang out with other dudes in person. You also might get some prizes if you donate at the right times, or send them an awesome haiku when they ask for one.

Yeah, well, I actually like this. I was watching the live feed for about half an hour. I think the vitriol in my post was distilled from my current melancholy.

BAH!!! I wanted to watch all the shenanigans this year, but of course I'm busy doing some 80 billion things. Oh well, next year I guess.

It's running for several days straight. There's always time to tune in and catch the shenanigan of the moment. On Friday night, I bid $20 and got them all to sing Black Sheep. ^__^

This Friday at 10AM PST, Desert Bus 8 starts. They've got an actual venue they're filming from this time too, instead of just their office.
