Vancouver 2010

So... is anyone watching the Olympics? After all, since the number of medals your country has is directly related to how big your penis is, we should all be watching it.

Plus, nothing says heterosexual like the two man luge.

And then there is curling, the sport that seems to be the game of choice among school janitors.

I have wondered what would have possessed some people to come up with something like curling.

That one was at Colbert Report filming, but it's happening everywhere. Twelve hours a day, it's a street party downtown.

Apparently the Curling fans could be the wildest. (see above)

'O Canada' - crowd sings and Martin's last-minute heroics put Canada at 6-0
Canada's Kevin Martin was trailing his curling arch-nemesis, David Murdoch of Britain, on Saturday evening by a single point in the 10th end when a bout of Canadian patriotism broke out. The majority of the 5,600 people in the stands, who had been subdued for most of the evening, broke into an impromptu rendition of "O Canada." The crowd was standing, hundreds of red and white Canadian flags were being waved and the singers were all wonderfully in tune.

Players from both teams stopped what they were doing, including Canada's second Marc Kennedy, who was about to throw his rocks.

"The timing may not have been great but that's amazing," a beaming Kennedy said after the game. "I don't know if that's ever happened in a curling game before.

"It's unbelievable the support we've got out there. It's like a fifth man. It keeps us positive even when things aren't going so well. For me it almost relaxed me a bit. We got to have a quick chuckle and refocus and we made every shot after that."

Canada went on to score two points and won 7-6 to run its record to 6-0.

The win was a big one for Martin.

Murdoch had beaten him four straight games, including the gold-medal matchup at the world championships in Moncton last year.

Vancouver is very excited about the Olympics, but we only know the one song.

And only because it was on South Park.

    Thoughts on the closing ceremonies?

I didn't actually watch a single event, but I know that we kicked all of your asses, which is all I need to know.

I only saw a picture of the giant beavers... I think I'm going to have nightmares now.

There were some moose with the beavers. The only part I actually saw was th emime raising the malfuntioning orch pillar so they could finally light it. At least Canada made it interesting.
