Woo! Avatar didn't win Best Picture!

I haven't seen the movie that did, but it must have been better than Avatar as I'm pretty sure it's physically impossible for a movie to be worse than Avatar.

Unless Michael Bay directed it, that is.

Kinda disappointed that District 9 didn't win, as District 9 was a pretty awesome movie and it would've been nice to finally see a science fiction movie win Best Picture.

Provided that science fiction movie isn't Avatar, of course.

Now let's just hope Avatar fades from the public consciousness as quickly as Titanic did.

I'm going to pretend I didn't read the 'T' word.

    Napoleon Dynamite.

Screw you guys, I liked both those movies.

Learn to live a little. It's a movie; enjoy it while it lasts

I did enjoy Avatar. It was way better than the first time around when they were calling it "Pocahontas".

My uncle nearly shit a brick when he found out Avatar didn't win. He was pleasantly surprised.

So the only movies I've seen that got any kind of award were Up, Avatar, and Star Trek.

I need to see me some more goddamn movies.

While I loved District 9, it probably didn't stand a chance for Best Picture. But I'm still mad that Children of Men didn't win that award.

Those are the three movies I saw in theatres last year. I'm in the same situation.

Having seen a few more of these movies:

The Blind Side // Sandra Bullock: Yes
    Precious // Mo'Nique: Yes
    Precious // Gabourey Sidibe: Yes
Up in the Air // anyone: No

Oscars got it right! Though many of us were rooting for underdog cinderella Gabourey Sidibe, she may have been the more conventional choice over Sandra Bullock.

And I agree with MISH. Avatar and Napoleon were awesome movies.

Thank you! I'll have you know I really enjoyed Napoleon Dynamite. It helped that I had NO idea what the movie was about when I saw it for the first time, and it was way before there was any type of craze going on about how funny it was. When I walked in to see it, I had only heard that it was "good." It could have been a scary movie and I wouldn't have known any better walking in. It was the shock value of saying WHAT IS THIS that made me love it so much.

The Hurt Locker was overrated in my opinion. I got the dvd with high hopes since I had heard so many good things about it and I was...underwhelmed. Avatar probably didn't deserve best picture either, but still.

And Children of Men should win best picture every year. Or at least best cinematography. I'm still bitter about Pan's Labyrinth beating it.
