The Ultimate LOST Fan Promo Contest

edited April 2010 in Movies and Shows
If anyone's interested, the folks at ABC are running a contest to see who can create the best promo for the final series of LOST!

The Ultimate LOST Fan Promo Contest

They give you a bunch of audio and video resources to use to put together a 35 second ad. You can use the software on their site or your own video editing software to put it together (which will also let you include your own content within reason). Winner gets a trip to a LOST party in LA and their spot played during a broadcast of one of the last episodes! If you're up for it, make sure you read the Entrant Agreement and Rules before starting.

Sadly, the terms and conditions prohibit us from putting our submissions online for public consumption, so I can't show you what I'm working on, but I figured if there were any other LOST fans around here they might want in on the action. I honestly don't think the ad I'm putting together will do well at all when I submit it, but hopefully the finished product will be funny. I've never put an ad together either, so it'll be a new experience at least.

I was a Lost fan until about season 3 (?) or so. Jack and the others were captured by the Others and sitting in some weird detention facility, while we found out the Others all lived in a weird suburban area. Does the story pick up after that? Everyone seems so into this last season, so I'm assuming it does. I just want to know if I got stuck in a dry patch or no.

I'll admit, season three was a low point in the show's run initially, but it and the rest of the series got a lot better. It's worth investing time in, and I'm really excited to see how it will wrap up this summer.

So it's worth enduring until you get to the good stuff, presumably season 4 and on? If that's the case, then perhaps I will get back into it soon. Season 1 was pretty addictive, and 2 was fairly good too.

I even thought season three got better partway through. Seeing The Others in that way was certainly jarring initially but it's important for later in the story to see why they behave the way they do. And of course, the question of whether they're even a force of evil or clearcut bad guy comes into play.

I thought the show peaked in season 3. It was when they moved away from the island that the show kinda "lost" its heart. Also, serious for real time travel? Wtf.

Season 3 is where I really started to be interested too.

I wonder if the Willy Wonka song last week had to do with this promo contest?
