Yeah, a friend stumbled upon this in my computer class today.
There's 2 player even if you hit "Insert Coin".

It is indeed quite amusing. I'd have almost missed it on account of me using an old iGoogle setup when I'm working.

Of course, the one time I actually wanted to use the "Feeling Lucky" button...

You know what was better than pac-man on google? All the facebook groups about pac-man on google.

No one EVER wants to use the "Feeling Lucky" button, don't lie, man.
  • edited May 2010
But what about the people who are feeling lucky?

I spent the last 7 days of my English class playing that. My school district isn't smart enough to know how to block things.
  • edited June 2010
It's kinda hard to block part of a webpage, you really have to block the whole thing, and what school would block google?
  • edited June 2010
Crazy people who think you have to block the whole site maybe?
  • edited June 2010
I never said impossible I just said it was rather difficult. Though I guess one page wouldn't be nearly as bad as like, blocking all of a certain feature on facebook.
  • edited June 2010
I know they can block one page of a website, as they've done it before. But the sites they block make no sense me. For example, you can go to the Yahoo home page and use all of the features they have on it (mail, finance, weather, etc), but you can't use Yahoo as a search engine. I could see the reverse of that, but not allowing people to search on Yahoo seems silly.

It doesn't really matter to me though, I don't use Yahoo and I'm happy to play Pac-Man in school. Curse you Blinky!

But it's Google! Knowing the district, they'd screw it up and block the entire search engine...

The one they have up there now isn't to bad. Happy Fourth of July!

    www.google.cn

New Google China is up, with full compliance from Chinese authorities. Their business license just got renewed.

Basically, the entire search engine redirects to Hong Kong, to get around governemnt censorship. However, users now have to voluntarily click to go there, instead of being automatically redirected as they were before. The government did not like automatic redirects, but they seem to be okay with this.

The other links at the bottom provide other google services that aren't censored by the government and are such provided by mainland servers: music, translation, and shopping.

    Kinda weird.

So I was just messing around with the google translate page in Chinese, and a few of the languages had a sound clip to go with the translations... it's pretty entertaining.
  • edited July 2010
They got that to pass with China? I wasn't sure google was going to be get the ok with that.
  • edited July 2010
A good compromise leaves everyone unhappy. Right now all their searches are still uncensored. When someone clicks on the search engine, it redirects to the HK servers. This way Google can still provide uncensored results, and China tolerates it because people are no longer automatically directed. They have to make a willing choice to use the HK servers.

Is there any reason they wouldn't?
  • edited July 2010
There's a small chance they wouldn't know about it, maybe.
