E3 2010

edited June 2010 in Games
Really, no one yet? I'm surprised.

So yeah, I'm super pumped for Donkey Kong Country returns, I used to play that game on snes all the time with my cousin way back in the day. Also really looking good was the new Kid Icarus game. The 3DS looks like it'll be sweet. Kind of like how everyone thought the motion control on Wii would be dumb at first, it is easy to be a little skeptical. I trust Nintendo will do it right though. Overall I was impressed and I'm glad I'll be finally brushing the dust off my Wii!

Goldeneye remake is an awesome idea, but health regeneration is dumb, and I already miss the old gun names. Animal Crossing looks like it won't be a clone of the DS version this time, though the tall characters look a bit awkward at times, especially since the animals are still stick figures of lower detail than the main characters.

Still, fairly excited for those two.

New DK Country is a cool idea, but man, I really hate DK's current "Scooby-Doo" voice.

Am I too picky? It seems like I can't give any good news without finding the non-silver lining.

Sony is still struggling to make a case for the PS3 and the Move isn't helping much. MS is faring better with lower cost Xboxes, and the whole kinect thing which at least doesn't totally rip off the wii remote concept (*cougheyetoycough*). Although to be clear the new XBox model eats discs for breakfast even if it's otherwise (hopefully) less failure prone.

Nintendo basically wins exactly as many people expected.

A new Kid Icarus? And it's going to be the 3DS flagship launch title? Looks like Pit finally got that name recognition he's been clamoring for.

Also, new Zelda? New Kirby? New Donkey Kong? Starfox 64 remake? Ocarina of Time remake? Glasses-less 3D? My pants are damp in anticipation.

Man, the old 360 ate them as well, at least it's some progress besides which, minus laptops, who the crap moves anything with a CD drive while it's running? People that want broken discs.

Edit: Also there's a freaking sticker on the consoul stating quite clearly NOT to move the system while in use.

I am soooooo looking forward to Fallout: New Vegas! It looks awesome. And I can't wait for Portal 2. See epic trailer

Some of these games look like fun! It's just a shame I no longer have the time to play anywhere close to all of the games I want.

Learn from me people. Never get a job.

Gaaah. I suppose this means I have to either upgrade my computer to run this stuff, or actually buy something past a ps2.

Did the new Zelda game look at all decent?

Eh, game consoles are toys and toys are going to be moved roughly. Gamecubes, Wiis, and PS2s don't seem to have any problems with that.

Meh, I guess, it remains an improvement over the old system though.

So wait, the Aperture Science facility rebuilds ITSELF!?!?! That is now, more then ever, the greatest science lab ever.

Also, (Personally) the new Zelda game looks awesome, but come on, it's a Zelda game, it's gonna be pretty cool, I especially like the crazy graphics.

I suppose I could open a new tab and pull it up on Youtube at some point.
I'm assuming it's just on the Wii then?

Of course, it's always been Nintendo's style to keep all their games to themselves, then again that's also everyone else's style, but whatever.
Also it uses the Wii Motion Plus and the motion controls like Twilight Princess, though that might be a bad example since that was on the Gamecube as well.

Oh, it did come out on Gamecube, I forgot about that. As in I just gained that piece of information.

At what point will they replace the Wii do you think?
  • edited June 2010
Around the same time the PS3 and 360 get replaced, which happens what?
Every decade or so? They've still got a few years left in them.

Meh, I've never kept up with Sony or Xbox much. I've always liked computer, just because you can replace the parts in them as they progress...not that I've replaced anything in my desktop for 3 years...
Anywho, I'm headed to bed, won't be back for a week. Laters.

It doesn't work. You can't afford to buy all the games you want to play when unemployed.

As usual with new game releases, I am just waiting to see which one has the most zombies to kill.

Hopefully there has been some movement on making Dead Rising 2.

There's a prequel to DR2 coming out, and you can transfer your save file over to the actual game when it comes out. Presumably that means they've been working on both games and the prequel is just going to be out REALLY soon.

    MORTAL KOMBAT

A new Mortal Kombat? Never heard about that, does it look good?
