Yeah, his hair and mustache are kinda a different color (and a bit blurrier?) then the eyebrows, makes it look kinda odd.
What Samus would be doing in a Mario comic I have no idea, (Smash Bros comic?), but ya know, they don't know how she got there either I guess.
I like it so far, but then again I have weird tastes.

That would be because I used a semi-transparent brush to cover his eyes rather than a solid color (which looked worse). I was thinking that using the rubber stamp tool might fix that, but man, I suck with that tool.

Well, it's more of a 16 bit video game comic than a Mario comic, but yeah, I get what you're saying. I'll just say it'll all be explained in the main storyline (which I've yet to think up).
The closeups are blurred. Either try to figure out how to turn off anti-aliasing off when resizing the sprites or do your resizing in something like mspaint which doesn't do anti-aliasing. It'll keep your edges cleaner and more sprite-like. This will also make it easier to modify sprites and you will be able to avoid the color awkwardness like you have with Mario's face in panel 3.
On the writing side, try not to overdo the self-deprecating humor. It's fine for a bit, but not in the long term.

Thanks for the tips man! The next time I have a close up scene I'll be sure to try Paint.
Wait, you're calling people nerds for NOT watching anime now? There should be a Committee to Finally Figure Out the Definition of that Word. (CtFFOtDotW)
Look, is there any way we can lock him from the thread or just the conservatory forum? He's fine elsewhere, it seems this thread is his problem for now.
Well excuse me for an opinion on a terrible comic. It's not my fault this new kid keeps egging me on. He's addressing me, by acronym, to try to make some half baked comments, which goes to show how poor of writer he is in the first place, which is reflected in his comics. I'm. Sorry. That Davey is bad at comics.

Awesome!

Oh right, forgot to mention that, yeah, it's fine for the first like 5 or so, but far too many comics do that so it's a bit cliche.

Right on. I plan to include myself in the strip quite a bit so I'll watch for that pitfall.
You forgot the moobs, don't forget the moobs.
