Salvia

edited July 2010 in General
Has anyone here done it before? I tried it for the fourth time earlier tonight, it was a doozy. The first three times were alright, I mostly just felt like lights were REALLY weird and things felt a lot different, but other than that I was fine.

Earlier tonight, though, I experienced a 'bad trip'. Man, it was weird... I completely blacked out into my own little world for a good while, and I had absolutely no memory of anything regarding real life. I was working or something, what seemed normal to me at the time, and then the world just started folding over... it was like that scene in Inception where Ellen Paige makes the entire city fold over on itself. Except in my trip, I somehow got sucked on the outside of it all, and I was falling along the edge of realities like a flip book turning pages. I finally escaped the flip book reality by aiming for a kind of 'hole' in the fabric, and started wondering where I was and how I got there. In the trip I went through like 2 rooms that were exactly the same, and slowly started coming down as I actually started recognizing my friends around me. At first I thought it was a trick and that I was going to start falling back into the flip book world if I was caught, but as I recognized people I started remembering where I was. Once I remembered that I had taken a hit of salvia and everything I was experiencing was all part of the trip, I just spent the rest of the trip trying to figure out what the hell had just happened.

I did this over 3 hours ago and I'm still completely weirded out by it all. Shit was INTENSE. Thank god Greg and some of my other friends were babysitting. At one point I tried to run out of what I thought was the trap in my trip... turns out I would have run straight for the balcony.

Funny thing is, this whole thing lasted around 10 minutes. It felt like a lot longer! So how 'bout it, has anyone else tried Salvia before? Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Interesting, after a tiny bit of Internet research I have found I could legally buy it even though I am a minor and live in conservative Idaho! If you don't mind me asking were you using a concentrated form of Salvia, or some alternative form of consumption? This seams like the kind of thing the LDS Church would be quite outspoken about in these areas, though lo and behold it is legal both here and in Utah.

This time I was smoking an extract of some sort. My friend was the one who bought it, he mentioned before we started taking turns something about how the chemicals from the plant had been extracted into a liquid or something and then put on another herb, I think he said oregano.

The other times I've done salvia, it definitely had to have been just the dry leaves. There was SUCH an intense difference between the experiences. Before starting I was fully expecting to be disappointed, with maybe a mild hallucination at best. I didn't even go first, one of my friends went before me and was trying it for the first time; he had a much smaller hit so he only got mild effects from it, similar to what I was expecting from smoking it. This time, though, I don't even remember exhaling. I remember holding it in, starting to feel this pulling feeling as my mind got fuzzy, annnnd then trying to piece together reality. It hit me QUICK and hard.

I've never tried it but I'd be interested to. It sounds really intense, so it's a little scary, but I have some friends who have done it. And it's totally legal.

In the drug's defense, I was the only one in my group to have a bad trip. Everyone else seemed like they had a great time-- maybe a little bizarre, but nothing scary. One of my friends started feeling the carpet as soon as she started tripping, and then could NOT stop laughing. We kept handing her stuff to feel, and it was really really funny to watch. When she was done she said she imagined everything soft was like a marshmellow, and the entire room was made of food (Hanzel and Gretel style). She came out of it and said "THAT WAS AWESOME." No one else's trip lasted near as long as mine either.

So, word of advice: if you do try it, don't take a huge hit.

Bacon does not even begin to describe the terrors I journeyed through.

Well, yeah. Bacon isn't a terror, so much as what I dream of on a daily basis.

Yeah, glad I wasn't made of bacon. I would have started to eat myself, and seeing as how I was the strongest there by far I might have actually got a few good bites in.

"NO, STOP!!! LET ME EAT THE DELICIOUS BACON!!!!"

I rememeber one time me and my girlfriends were like, hanging out and like this guy totally like had some or whatever. And he was like, "man this stuff is way cooler than pot" which was cool cause like I don't really like pot, like it's okay but like you just sort of chill out. Like nothing really has ever happened while I was on pot except like this one time I totally like started having a panic attack or something and like we totally had to mellow me out with some beer.

But no, so like, he totally has the salvia or whatever and we do it and like, oh man. I had such a bad trip. I had nightmares for a week and decided I never wanted to do it again. :c

I remember my friends did it again one day and I was like "No dudes, I'm totally going to have to just stick to drinking." Then again one of my friends might be a crackhead so I should get better friends, you know?

14, for those of you who were wondering. It would have been 15, but I discounted one that was used correctly.

Ah, I see the 14th now. Not that I had to count for myself anyway.

They stopped selling it California a while ago. There are more conservatives in California than you'd expect and I guess they didn't like kids talking to their walls.
