Does anyone know who this character is?

This image was posted on Collegehumor.com as part of their "Cartoon University" series. When I saw it, I was immediately struck by how similar the robot in the center (not Bender, but his drinking buddy) is to a character I created (named, coincidentally enough Drunken Robot). However, I have never seen this character before and have no idea who he is. Does anyone recognize him?

    And speaking of robots...

    Seriously, what is the point of a spambot? It's the advertising equivalent of walking up to someone mid-conversation and hitting them in the knees with a 2x4 printed with your logo.

    I don't think the people that pay the spambotters to advertise know how exactly the spammer is achieving it. I got an email offer from one, the service is basically described as "get your business seen on thousands of blogs all over the web!" and "X many hits guaranteed!"
