Nintendo has announced no such thing! But it seems like a reasonable price to me.

Seems high. But that's only because I want to buy one.

i was reading in some gaming magazine that it would be $200, but either way im still going to get it.

I believe Iwata stated that he's trying to keep the Wii cheap. Then again, given the PS3, that'll be easy by comparison.

Do you know what would be cool? If there was some sort of standardized interface for data output in regular DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-Ray players. That way the console people wouldn't need to put a disc reader in their systems at all. They could just include the port to hook it up to the movie player.

So, if I understand you correctly, you're trying to say that the PS3 should not be able to play the DVD/HD-DVD/Blu Ray discs, but rather just send the data down onto another reading device? Doesn't that kind of defeat the entire purpose of the multimedia kick Sony's on? This way, you'd have to buy a PS3 and this other device to play your movies.

And Nintendo does well with their console prices. There's nothing to worry about.

I've heard around $200, and that is damn near a perfect price, in terms of marketability.

I think Nintendo is about to put Sony and Microsoft to the curb, as far as this particualr market is concerned.

    the Nintendo fanboy market?
  • edited May 2006
Well, fanboys will buy a system regardless of the price. That's why they're fanboys.

$200 would be a good price. It's that "a" word. You know, game systems used to be this, but not anymore.

    Oh, affordable! That's it!

No. The poor high school/college/unemployed/fresh-into-their-first-real-job market.

I find it amusing how Microsoft tries to say that people should by a Wii and an Xbox instead of a PS3. Like I'm really gonna do that. I'll just take a Wii.

I was thinking more like the anyone-who-plays-games market.

I almost feel bad for Sony after this development, this year's E3 massacre...
    I almost feel bad.

This one pretty much sums it up for me, Personally i like "wii" just imagine all the fun you can have,

"Hey mom, I'm gonna go play with my Wii now!"

    or

"I love waving my Wii-stick around!"

the list goes on... but anyway as far as i'm concerned if Nintendo dares to be different well I say more power to 'em!

    i was kind of right
Then, I can say something like, "Oh, you know, I was playing with my Wii." Or someone would say, "What did you do at Dan's house overnight?" And I could say, "We played with his Wii until we got tired."

Whoa. I had no idea Nintendo was that old.

I had no idea that Nintendo ran an hourly-rate hotel for the explicit purpose of facilitating sexual encounters!

    That's hot!

Did you know that Mario was originally a carpenter named Jumpman?
  • edited May 2006
Yes! Luckily, they changed it to the much more glamorous profession of plumber.

Wow. Mario actually links us to helpful info instead of just making fun of the comic. Well done, Mario.
  • edited May 2006
The helpful information was more than sufficient to make fun of the comic on its own.

    Yeah, I did know that.

And yes, that comic has been throughly owned.

Well, yeah, but I just obliquely referred to the information when I made fun of the comic, whereas you actually provided it. This is because you are rad and I am a total dick.
