Meat!

edited July 18 in Events
Today was my family's version of groundhogs day. Which is to say, We ground some hogs. Our freezers are now filled with pork chops, bacon, ribs, pork roast, and best of all, sausage. Or our version of sausage anyway. It's really nothing like anything you can buy in a store. Store stuff tastes like crap. Ours is delicious.

So. What're YOU doing for groundhogs day?

Probably going to school, and possibly learning things.

I'm going to try and come up with a way that I can steal meat from you.

OU had it's annual casino night tonight. Hamelin and I played blackjack and ate waffles. It was fantastic. Unfortunatley lacking in meat though.

Our boss handed out whipped cream. Insane amounts of whipped cream.

X'o', I have to ask: did you guys actually get to ground the hogs, or did you buy them pre-ground? I'd probably be fine either way, but I'm guessing the ultimate Groundhogs Day would be of the home-grounded variety.

I think they ground the hogs themselves, as they had lots of other cuts of meat as well.

Don't forget the ones from Animal Farm whose names I totally forgot!

    Muhahaha?

Don't worry about those ones, they were communists.
  • edited January 2006
    They still had feelings.

    Benjamin was no communist!

Regardless of whether or not they had feelings, they were the antagonists. Literature says we should always hate the antagonist? Are you going to question literature?

    Napoleon and Snowball, I think?

    Dont forget Old Major.

That movie scarred me terribly. When I was five at least.

I kept invisioning a dead pig wrapped in plastic flying out at me everytime I opened a cupboard.

Anthropomorphic communist pigs. That's like making a little kid watch "IT." Or any Stepeh King movie for that matter, they're all pretty traumatizing.
  • edited January 2006
That is so cool that you ground up all those pigs. I love meat.

    Animals are delicious.

    Wait, there's a movie?
  • edited February 2006
Yeah, it has a doberman driving a car. It's pretty fucked up.

I ate a pheasant recently! It was wrapped in bacon. It made me realize that there are so many animals I have yet to taste. I've only ever had 6 species of bird. There are at least 10,000 out there. And that's just birds.

    Mmmmm, birds.

Almost 7 years, huh? This is some well aged meat.

I had prime rib for Christmas. I hadn't had any in a long time, so it was a nice treat.

We had Latkes (not even Jewish, just a change of pace) and Indonesian curried meatballs.

My family has made a bit of a tradition for having prime rib for Christmas dinner.

I had partridge for the first time in my life this past november. I've also had goat and guinea pig.

MAybe we can all set a collective goal for this new year to eat some monitor lizard? That sounds like it (maybe) is some fine meat.

This Christmas season I have eaten: Turkey, Ham, Pork, Chicken and Beef. I am a man.

We had ribs for New Years day. They were really good. There is also a ribs place in town that serves a rack of ribs and a generous serving of french fries directly on lunch trays. They don't even bother trying to be classy.

I've been in the US for two weeks and have had ribs twice. I think I'm doing alright. AMERICA.
