You wasted a perfectly good oppurtunity to helariously ruin Behemoth's reputation!

Did it say you were Behemoth on the front page, or the forum? The current front page hack uses a cached page if you log in anew, and I think it usually appears as Behemoth for reasons unknown. You're not actually logged in as him though; when you click through to another part of the forum, it shows your proper user state. Thanks for bringing this up though! It's one of the reasons I don't really like vbDrupal, despite all its awesome integration.

    Uh-WHA!? I feel kinda special.

Yeah, it used MacJake's username earlier, as well.

    Mine too.

I think it periodically rebuilds the cache from recent logins, but only if you log out of the forum. Since I set my browser cookies to remember me, I always see my own name.

Mine remembers who I am, but never gets the "currently online" list right. At the moment, it thinks the only members on are Apathy and Serephel.

Happens to me too. It rarely shows me as being online.

Yours could probably be accounted for because of your 'strikeout' name.

I just saw something weird that only vaguely relates to this thread.

I'm on my grandma's computer right now, so I had to re-log in. In the main page, it had Mario's news entry and his Pit avatar right next to it, right? So I logged in and the page re-loaded, and all of a sudden the entry had Mario's old anime-avatar instead. Now it's back to normal, but that was just odd.

have you considered two good options:

    1. fix the front page hack
    2. don't use a hack for the front page

Just thought I'd throw that out there. If you need someone to oversee that getting done, I'd be happy to watch you do it. I'll even bring some cookies and milk for that 10 minute break you get every 12 hours from obeying my every command.

    3. Use a better hack for the front page

    We're working on it.

I don't see why you need to, since aside from being somewhat odd, it doesn't adversely affect the running of the forum does it?

You innocently log on to the forums at your school's computer lab. A cute co-ed who's been watching you for some time sees that you frequent "The Orange Belt" forums under the guise of "Behemoth"(FTW?!?!?!). She procedes to join in an attempt to become closer to you, only to realize that she absolutely despises your online, "Behemoth" persona. She quicky decides you're a jerk and spreads horrible rumors all over campus. /scenario

And is that likely to happen?
  • edited June 2006
We can't afford to risk it! We don't want to get shunned by the cute co-eds of the world!

So does this mean that Behemoth's out of luck until he makes an alternate account?

If I were female, I'd jump in bed with someone called Behemoth in a second!

i already get shunned by cute co-eds. and fat, ugly, or hairy ones, so it doesn't matter to me anyways.

Cute co-eds do not watch me. If they did they wouldn't jump and freak out when I walk up behind them and ask them a question or try to get their attention in some way. Some days I'm tempted just to start greeting people by saying "Boo!". If I'm gonna be a ghost to them I might as well go all out, huh? Or maybe I should wear a ninja costume all the time so people might expect me to be stealthy and not be so suprised when I seem to appear behind them as if by magic.
