I didn't even know that diet coke reacted with Mentos. Office picnics will never be the same again!

If someone were to mix Diet Coke, Mentos and Pop Rocks it would spell the end of civilization as we know it! And we wouldn't get the send-a-ship-to-Alpha-Centauri ending either!

I think it's a physical reaction. The sugar in the mentos causes the coke to fiz faster and the fiz brings up the liquid with it. At least that is how I think it works... Impressive video, by the way.

Finally a use for diet coke.

Yeah, my friends found this out a while ago. In fact, they might have a couple of videos on Google Video, look for the guy kissing the camera at the end, that's the one my friends did.

    I don't believe you.

    Like you'd have any friends.

Anyway, thats an awesome video. I'm totally doing that at the next party I go to.

Oh wait, there it goes. That mint powered fountain is all kinds of awesome.

I'm doing that, first thing when I get back to the US.

I like Diet Coke more than regular coke, but maybe I just suck.

And that video was just packed full of SCIENCE!

Note: This also works with other similar products, such as millions and pepsi max.

What a fantabulous waste of money!

What, did you expect them to drink that swill?
  • edited June 2006
Is swill referring to the Diet Coke or the mixture of diet coke and mentos?
  • edited June 2006
Diet coke. The addition of mentos could only improve the flavour.
  • edited June 2006
Well you can't very well make it worse, so anything's worth a shot.

Black Cherry flavored Mike & Ikes make Diet Coke somewhat tolerable. You can pretend it's Diet Cherry Coke.
  • edited June 2006
WHAT?! You're telling me you don't like diet coke? But why not? Its flavour is clearly superior to Coca Cola!

I don't like Diet Coke. However, I do like soda, so I'll drink it if it's there. But I'll constantly complain about the aftertaste, as well as the taste. Maybe the beforetaste.
  • edited June 2006
I see it in reverse, I complain about the aftertaste of coke, something which diet coke is lacking.

I never said I was a huge Coke fan. Personally I prefer off-brand cola alternatives, like Target's Market Pantry, or Safeway Select. They're not as syrupy.
  • edited June 2006
If I do drink coke, its usually Tesco brand cola or Panda pop, mainly due to price.

quicktime doesn't work on my computer, but im pretty sure i've seen this on tv. i personally prefer to put dry ice and boiling water in an empty soda bottle, screw on the cap, and let the pressure build up until it explodes, but the police dont let us do that anymore...

I would say something about how I dislike Diet soda here, but most of it has already been said.

cool video, i'll have to try that sometime, good music in the background aswell.

I enjoy diet soda, because I lost 20 pounds within some ridiculously small amount of time after switching to it. And Diet Cherry Coke is actually pretty good, once you forget what actual sugar tastes like.

I prefer Pepsi and RC Cola.
  • edited June 2006
They must be all full of diet coke after such a display.

DAMN!!! How much soda do you drink?!
You should be diet coke's version of Subway's Jared.

And I'm all about Surge, Josta, and Crystal Pepsi!!!!

I'll side with Night Lord and Serephel here. Coke tastes great, but it's very syrupy and that syrup stays in the back of your mouth for the rest of the day. I prefer Coke as cold as possible and with ice to minimize the syrupiness. Diet Coke, though, I used to drink two liters per day, cold, iced, or lukewarm.

I've been enjoying off-brand colas lately, mostly because they are less strong than Coke and Pepsi. Viva la Market Pantry!

I will always be a big fan of store-brand Dr. Pepper derivatives (except for Wal-Mart's hideous Dr. Thunder). Oh, and Kroger's grape soda is amazing. I loved it when I lived in Oklahoma and had to wait for trips home to be able to buy it. Of course, now that I live a block away from a Kroger, I can't drink real soda anymore. And store-brand diet soda is deadly poison.

    Yay for support!

Diet Barq's, though, is horrid. It's a sin.
