My Zelda Sprite Comic (creative title)

edited November 2006 in Comics
As Mario wisely advised me, (I almost didn't do this..) I made my own thread for my comic. I haven't come up with a title yet- but I do have six episodes! I realize that these aren't the best, so I'm expecting some harsh crits  anyway, here they are.

Also notice that they only look good if you maximise the window they are in.
enjoy!:D

Nice work! :) They're funny, they've got good characters, and you've got a storyline starting. Can't wait to see more! ^_____^

Yeah, Mario took the good title already.

Yay! spee! I'm glad people like em!...damn Mario for taking the good title! XD

Not bad at all. I like the small time lapses between each comic so that there's sort of implied stupidity occuring.

Alright, here's number seven. It's my personal favorite so far.

enjoy! *runs off to make more*

Heh, nice. :) Where do you get your sprites and backgrounds from, by the way?

    Can't wait for more ;)

I get my sprites from The Spriter's Resource. It's a great site, but it's been remade recently, so the selection as of right now is a bit limited. All the sprites should be back soon though. I got my background in episode 7 as a result of Google search for "hardwood" XD

Please see #6 in regards to your useage of the Black Mage sprites. And put some thought into #8 before you give this an official name.

As for the plot... Well, there doesn't seem to be one. Ralph just goes around with Black Mage killing and robbing people. Hopefully you'll be giving a point to this soon enough, as random killings and robbings will get old fast.

And just for everyone's convience, you might want to update the list of comics in your first post every time you make a new one. That way if someone new comes into the topic, they can find all the comics right there at the start.

I'll update the first post from now on...and as for the plot, I'm going to actually start making one now. I own The Legend of Zelda:The Oracle of The Seasons, so I've been re-playing it a lot more for inspiration. That will probably help. And I'll have to work on my Black Mage sprites! Thanks for the help.

Heh. That's kinda funny, since Ralph hails from Oracle of Ages. This should be quite interesting.

Double length!! A plot sort-of developes!! I switched to using the map sprites because they were almost the only ones in the right "size". The title is logooc6.pngI'll put it into the next comic.

Is "Let's catch him in the action!" written that way intentionally or did you actually mean "in the act"? Good comic, I'm just wondering if it was meant to reveal a bit of the character or just an odd word choice.
  • edited September 2006
yeah, they meant in the action! (because they think he's up to something) And here's something I drew while I was bored! And sorry bout the crappy format, I was just lazy.

You need to work on your speech bubbles. Try to not draw them by hand, instead use the shape tools.
  • edited September 2006
I'll try that out. (As you can see I kind of attempted that in episode 7)
  • edited September 2006
You know, I kind of like your hand-drawn comic.
  • edited September 2006
Oddly enough (perhaps even, ironiclly), I do too.

One problem: Onox kidnaps Din, not Naryu.

    Well, the drawing is nice...

I liked both. I think the comic depends alot on the reader drawing conclusion based on inferences. Like a said before about how you sort of need to fill in the gaps. That probably makes the jokes a little too odd/obscure for people.

I will start working on that issue! meh heh heh....

Yeah, that was pretty uncalled for and irrelevant for a 3 week old topic. Besides, as far as we know, this is dead:

Okay, I was going to use my other thread. But....this isn't a sprite comic, so I'm making this thread. I felt that I'm beyond sprite comics, and I don't have to use sprites instead of drawing on my own. No offence, Mario, you work harder than anyone, but I felt that I wanted to show my actually artistic ability.

So just let this topic die now, unless Agentcel brings it back himself with more of these comics.

Thanks for being my spokesperson *laughs* But yeah, the above is true.

Oh man...after not making a sprite comic in a while, I just had to! Don't crtisize my lazyness.

Did they kill him because the answer to "who's winning?" was "link" and that was too ambiguous? I find this comic slightly anachronistic!
