    ...What?
  • edited October 2006
The Pokérus is a virus found in the 3rd generation that somehow boosts your Pokémon's stats.

And sure. NOW the topic is "For SCIENCE!" After I already used my "lop off Zepa's wang for science" idea on a regular update. And I only entered that 2 year old comic in the 2nd contest because it isn't in my site's archive. But at least the "For SCIENCE!" theme is much more open than the anime theme, so I'm sure I'll get something.

not true its in the 2nd gen ha trust me I know about move tutors, Ev's, missing-nos, M's, and all that other stuff that most gamers take for grated
  • edited October 2006
But whereas Pokérus was a documented feature of the game, the other stuff you're mentioning is glitches. I remember back in the day, I refused to trade with people that used Missingno. glitches, as that stuff could seriously mess up your save data. Ah, memories.

what about Effort values? and move tutors?

oh and are animated comics allowed? after I am done I will have 3 different comics that I will make into a gif based comic!

I purchased both Red and Blue version. Red was my game that I actually played, and Blue I used to explore glitchs and gameshark codes. Right now, my Blue is pretty Fu^&ed up. ^^

Animated comics are allowed, but no cartoons.

If I get a chance, I shall whip up something for this contest. I like this topic much more than the anime one, of which I know nothing about.

Everyone knows about EV's and Move Tutors, Missingno and M are just glitches as mario already said, and I really don't trust you at all about the Pokérus being in the 2nd gen. You're the first one who's ever made this claim, so if you can provide me with something to back that up, I'd love to see it. Also, do you know about IV's?

While I hate to promote tangential discussions in a thread of a specific topic, yes, Pokérus was originally in Gold/Silver version. That's the last I'll say of it, because I want to leave plenty of room for contest entries. Onward to SCIENCE!

That's a pretty lame virus, if it doesn't even cause sickness.

Well, I've never trusted Wikipedia for video game related information, and I'm not going to start now. Especially with that "To meet Wikipedia's quality standards..." tag at the top. I mean, if an article can't even meet Wikipedia's low quality standards... Damn. That article must really be inaccurate.

Anyway, this animation... This isn't going to be a 3 minute long comic of just dialog, right? I've seen those before, and they bore me to tears. I hope if you're going to make an animation, it actually has animation in it.

no I'm gonne try to use metriod fusion parts in it to desribe the virus as a joke and Pofessor elm will talk about it and have other related type things going on

Not to continue the arguement or anything, but I'm pretty sure that I have, in fact, caught the Pokerus on my Gold version.

Fine, I'll believe you and mario because I know you guys are above lying over something so insignificant. I still retain my distrust of any game related information on Wikipedia, though.

Anyway, I think I'm judging because my secondary hard drive decided to be a little bitch and die. I got all but 4 files off it, but I'll be too busy looking for a replacement and seeing if I can find a way to recover those 4 files to make any comics. (Unless I get them off really fast, then I can be all sciencey on how to get files off a busted hard drive). Oh, no need to derail this topic further to try and help me out. I already found a potential solution, and if it fails, I'll make my own topic for help.

    Back to the contest!

God. Now if everyone will shut the hell up with the off-topicness, we can rack in some entries. Not to be mean, but dear god....

Are they like...gay for each other? What the hell are they doing in the second panel?!
  • edited October 2006
that is pretty funny but mine is going to take a while
  • edited October 2006
I have no idea what you're talking about. He's plainly tinkering with the robot brains.
  • edited October 2006
I find the third panel to be far more homoerotic (technoerotic?) than the second but it's a touching story none-the-less.
  • edited October 2006
The only little thing that I noted that has nothing to do with the comic was that there was a small form-factor Dell in the background of panel 2, which almost, but didn't quite lead to "Dude you go-" and that's where my attention shifted back to the nice poem and the awesomeness of panel 3.

Dude, you can tell from where the eyes are that the robot is facing the wrong direction to perform the function you're thinking of.

I like this entry. It reminds me of that episode of South Park where Cartman poses as a robot and tries to get dirt on Butters.

The song from that episode kept going through my head as I was writing the sappy poem, actually.
  • edited October 2006
It popped into my head when I read it. Looks good.

    I'll quit as a contestant a be a judge
