SCIENCE! Movie: "Shaun Of The Dead"

edited November 2006 in Movies and Shows
Shaun of the Dead is being played on, uh, whatever cable channel has all the Law and Order: SVU reruns. I think it's going to be on this weekend. Everyone who can catch it should-- it is probably the best zombie movie ever made.

I believe it's USA, because TNT has all the regular Law and Order reruns.

Yeah, it's USA, but I don't see the movie listed on their schedule:

It's not showing up on my cable box's schedule, either.

Looks like Comedy Central's running it at 10am and 2pm (eastern time), and Tuesday at 5.

It was great. The best part is that they addressed the issue of how zombies identify each other. I always wondered why they stopped biting each other and only went after people; it's all in the walk.

Ah yes, the irony. I went to watch a recorded episode of Chappelle's Show and the first 15 minutes was the last 15 minutes of the movie in question.

I'm afraid I must disagree Stef. That honor goes to the Japanese film Versus, which features kung-fu fights between reincarnated samurai and gun wielding mafia zombies. Hmmmm, it's probably worthy of being a SCIENCE! movie.

I borrowed Versus from a friend about a month ago. I had intended to see it with other friends who have also not seen the movie. It sits out in my car as I type this...

In any case, I have seen the "sequel" to Versus, however. It was interesting.

The ending was so jacked up I can't imagine a sequel being anything other than a 90 minute acid trip with swords. That being said, I want to watch it, what's it called?

The end of Shaun of the Dead depicted one of the gravest mistakes anyone can make with zombies: trying to keep loved ones around. Sure, his friend was chained up, but mistakes do happen.

Did any one catch the the Night Of The Living dead reference?

When Ed yells into the phone, "where coming to get you, Barbara!"

I got that right away. And I also enjoyed the movie without it being watered down for cable, as I have it on DVD.
