Hey, who want's to get the FOR SCIENCE Gunbound league going again? With Christmas break coming up, it'd be a better time then ever to start it back up.
I'm interested. Not during Christmas though, my computer at home is terrible, old, and running off a 56k modem. I wouldn't be able to play over break but afterwards I can.
I'm willing to bet the answer is no. I don't think CrossOver supports much of the requisite DirectX libraries of which Gunbound makes such extensive use. But I could be wrong.
I've thought about playing again, but I never look forward to dealing with all the dicks. If the FOR SCIENCE crew gets back into it, I could play again.
The topic is Gunbound. We're asking what it is. We're fully on topic. Also, "a fun game" doesn't tell us anything. We already knew it was a game, and fun is a matter of opinion. We want to know what genre of game it is, how you play, if it's free for all to play and if so, where can we download it from. And other such things.
Gunbound is a turn-based artillery game where you're in little tank things, and you shoot various sorts of missiles in order to make your opponent fall into the earth or explode and such.
A lot of gaging trajectory and angles and such. Also, if you play a while, you can earn points or something similar to purchase avatar upgrades and more space for special items (if I recall correctly). Shots vary between area of effect, aerial behavior, turn delay, and general type (such as laser guided)
Now it's just trying to piss me off. Every time I click to play so I can try it out, it takes me to the screen in the attachment. Problem is that the thing they want me to install, I already have because that damn thing popped up at me on every page of their site. AND, I cannot get that bar thing they wanted to load to save my ass. Help?
Whoops. Thought it'd shrink the image into a thumbnail. Lemmie fix it.
There.
The guild is still there. Anybody from the forums that applies should get in. Just PM me if you apply (include your Gunbound name) so I know who is who and what is what.
I should be back to roundly dominating you all within the next few weeks.
I played it the other day. I'm not in the guild anymore, and I couldn't find it listed anywhere to rejoin. I plan to start playing again. I'll be gone for 10 days but after that, I'll probably play on a regular basis.
Gunbound is hard. I got out of the newbie ranking and after that I was just getting my ass handed to me.
Edit: have any avatars been erased? I don't have the game installed anymore and I thought it would be faster to ask here before I brush up on my engrish.
I really don't want to play again if they took my mermaid stuit away.

My Adventure!

Yes.

PS It's fun!
EDIT: I find this site to be highly non-functional. Especially the avatar thingy.
EDIT AGAIN: It likes IE better. I see.

There.
So it installs ActiveX, which you need to view the bar? >_>
Does that mean Jon (that's Apathy, right?) has to help me, or was that a completely unrelated thought?
Never mind. It just plain doesn't want to work properly, even if I get it to load the player.

...are we still playing?
