Mi Video-Juego!

edited December 2006 in Comics
I'm making a computer game!

It's to be called "The Adventures of Barbillus: Escape from Rome", an action RPG in a similar vein to Zelda: LTTP, and I've been working on the planning on and off since 2003, but now the plot is done, and the dungeons are sketched.

I am now finally working on the coding, so look forward to it sometime next year (hopefully), for windows, possibly mac, and possibly GP2X if I can scrounge the money for one.

And for fun, here is the main character:

    Awesome!
    What are you coding it in?

    C++

    I'll hope to get a teeny weeny little alpha thing up soon.

    Genial

    Good gracious. You sound like you have some degree of competence with this. I lose so much hope when I look at my own class mates. They just suck.

    Good luck on your game. Grinding through and completing a project like that can be really tough. Keep at it.

    Which libraries are you using?

    I found a library on the internet which looks good called Allegro, the real draw being that it supports OS X and Windows.

    I've had someone direct me toward SDL myself. Never actually got around to putting it to use myself so I'm not sure if it's any good, but he was a mac user with a bunch of programming experience who made games.

    Allegro's pretty cool. I played around with it myself a few years back. Easier to use than SDL but still pretty powerful.

    Oh and it doesn't only support OSX and Windows (hint, hint...)

    Yes, don't worry, I've considered that too (Because we both know what you're talking about ;)). But it might come out after any other versions.

    Good. No sense leaving the BeOS users out.
