I must admit, having an open discussion page for comics will be much fun. At least, once someone that's possibly named geoko uploads the site.
  • edited February 2006
    Huh? What's all this then?
  • edited February 2006
    I can't load the site.

Witch's Brew is a fusion comic my friends and I started back in 2003. The hosting with .mac expires at the end of this month, and The Orange Belt hosting is cheaper and lets you be part of the forum, so we moved it on over!

The current registrated users that form the Brew Crew are myself, Pollinator (Paul), geoko (Geoff), and waitingfortheencore (Conor). Once the site's all uploaded, you'll be able to find it at witchsbrew.org.

(20:38:37) zeldacomic: Witch's Brew was your birthday wish?!?
(20:38:47) Jake of Laurania: well, it was one of them
(20:38:53) Jake of Laurania: I make a wish for every candle I blow out
    (20:39:02) zeldacomic: nice
(20:39:05) Jake of Laurania: Witch's Brew was #15
(20:39:14) zeldacomic: but you can only have one birthday wish per birthday!
(20:39:21) Jake of Laurania: pfft, that's just an old wives tale!
(20:39:28) zeldacomic: so all your other mini-wishes have been negated by this one coming true!
(20:39:37) Jake of Laurania: No! World Peace was so close!
(20:39:44) Jake of Laurania: oh well.
(20:40:03) zeldacomic: *shrug* can't win 'em all
(20:40:09) Jake of Laurania: pfft, that's just an old wives tale!

I remember readin' this thing once! Yeah, those were quite possibly the days.
  • edited February 2006
I am simply confused. The site still doesn't load for me and stuff.
  • edited February 2006
Try removing the "www.", but don't ask me why that seems to do the trick. I'll look into it.
  • edited February 2006
    No dice.

EDIT: I'll try later. If the domain name is new, it might take a bit for it to kick in.
  • edited February 2006
the site is being erratic for unknown reasons... it seems to work on and off every hour or so... strange, but kind of sexy... ish...
  • edited February 2006
I'm guessing the DNS hasn't fully propagated. When you transfer a domain, they usually tell you to wait 24-48 hours for it to take effect.

Oh! Now I remember what this is, it's an exquisite corpse, but for comics.
  • edited February 2006
    Wait... what?
  • edited February 2006
I also had no clue what that meant.
  • edited February 2006
An exquisite corpse is a multi-person poetry writing activity that started out as a parlor game. Each person writes a line, only being able to see the line beforehand. Being poetry, topics tend to deviate wildly, yet sometimes you get a surreal thread tying the whole thing together. Those are the best ones.

They're named after a particularly notable line from an early one, around 1928, namely "Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau" (The exquisite corpse will drink the young wine).

It's the same concept here with your brew.

Whoa, that rocks! Thanks, Professor Hamelin!

But is there room for TWO professors on this forum?!

Wait... Professor Jakey... Mario "A distinguished professor"... Oh darn it.

...but is there room for THREE professors on this forum?!
  • edited February 2006
    Don't forget Professor SCIENCE!
  • edited February 2006
Is there room for FOUR professors on this forum?!

Apparently. I mean, nothing bad happened to the first three. But just to be sure, let's call a deathmatch.
  • edited February 2006
Professor SCIENCE! wins by default I'm afraid.

He does have a shotgun in one hand and lightning coming out of the other after all.

    I demand a recount!

I demand a platter of nachos!
  • edited February 2006
I think they all need a smash bros challenge. and there's 4 of them, it's perfect. Except Mario can't play as Link. Cause he's a jerk when he's Link. Either that, or he's not allowed to use bombs or arrows. You decide.

Actually, Professor Science is a brontosaurus with a morterboard hat.
