Almost forgot to mention! The reason I find it so cool that Natasha Allegri is working on the show is because I've been reading her LiveJournal comics for a long time now, and have always dug her art styles. It's called Normal Life, but sadly her account appears to have been hacked into awhile back, and all her past entries are nowhere to be found. Hope she puts 'em back up eventually, maybe via Twitter or something.
Holy crap, I used to read her comic religiously! I can't tell you how much more pumped I am for this show, even though I was sufficiently pumped on the basic premise alone!!
I'd be glad you did miss it, except, not having seen how badly they've screwed everything up you wouldn't know how terrible the show is now.
Though I believe it comes on sometime next Monday if that helps at all.
I just watched 'Business Time' and 'Evicted' from... questionable sources and they were quite good. Bit slower-paced than the pilot, but just as funny and unpredictable. Also more instances of the word "kill" than on a typical kids' show.
I noticed they made a lot of puns in the first half of the episode. Like the kind you get in a bad action movie before a character shoots someone. I liked it.
I watched a bit of this "Business Time" episode and it was indeed the random goodness I was expecting from Adventure Time (At least the first 2 minutes of it was, don't ask me why that video only had the first 2 minutes). So maybe there is indeed some hope, but the episodes they aired yesterday were TERRIBLE.
Are you referring to Slumber Party Picnic and Trouble in Lumpy Space (free iTunes download, at least for now)? Because I thought they were excellent successors to the original short. There was math! Also Lady Rainicorn appears to now speak Korean instead of gibberish, which is awesome. I totally picked up the iTunes Season Pass since I don't have television and am happy to support smart, funny animation.
This show is now four seasons in, anybody still watch it? I've been catching up over the past couple weeks... partway through the second season they actually start bringing in some elements of continuity and character backstories, which I didn't think would work well in a show like this, but they actually pull it off well. The Ice King's got a pretty interesting past, and the subtle "this show actually takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of the real world" hints are cool. I'm just starting season 4 now, which I hear has some great stuff.
I never stopped watching! The continuity's been a delightful treat for extended viewing. You all should also start reading the comic book, written by Ryan North (of Dinosaur Comics fame!). You should do this pretty much immediately.
The demo is sung by the storyboarder for the episode, Rebecca Sugar, while she plays the Omnichord at the same time. Also, she drew the pictures in the video (aside from the episode's title card).

Great ditty. Show premieres April 5th. Calendar: MARKED
Though I believe it comes on sometime next Monday if that helps at all.
Ice King clip if you don't feel like actually watching through the episode.
EDIT: Demo version of the song from "I Remember You". Works better if you've seen the episode beforehand.
