I have heard many an American curse word. I am afraid to say that a monarch can curse better than those in the ghetto.

Someone playing Pokemon Black/White (in Japanese). He takes on the hardest trainer in the game, armed with 6 level 75+ pokemon, and he goes against her with a team of level 1s. And he wins.

    This is a delightful mess.

"Please don't dread Armaged'" is the best rhyme I've ever seen.

Not quite youtubin' since they took it off of youtube, but...
    [link removed due to illegality]

For those of you who haven't heard of it, Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a fantastic show from the 90's that basically shows old movies and makes fun of them. The premise, as explained in the opening credits, is that a janitor is trapped in a satellite by some mad scientists, who are using him as a guinea pig in their attempt to weaponize bad film. To combat the encroaching insanity, he and the robots he builds (yes, a janitor builds robots. Don't argue.) make snarky comments about the films as they play. It may not sound like much (and admittedly the skits in between the actual film clips can be rather weak) but it really is worth giving a shot. Oh, and if you look up later episodes, be warned that the show's plot does evolve a lot over time.

MST3K is awesome. It began in my own state of Minnesota. I think I might be required to know about it.

You won't find a bigger MSTie on this forum than me. But you should probably know that the link you provided is displaying illegally-hosted episodes of the show.

Hulu has a few episodes available for free streaming (though the ability to play may vary by geographical location), and Netflix has a few more available for streaming and DVD rental. The official site has lots of clips and links to stores where you can purchase DVD box sets.

And if you're looking for something a little more current, several of the writer/cast members now work on RiffTrax, a modern take on the riffing formula where you purchase an MP3 commentary track and play it alongside your DVD. Since they don't have to secure movie rights to sell the MP3, this allows them to riff on some more popular films, instead of limiting them to mostly public-domain affairs. The Twilight riffs easily top some of the finest MST3K episodes:

I'm extremely grateful for Netflix existing. Otherwise I'd have to satisfy my RiffTrax love by walking up to a human being in a video rental place and actually saying, out loud: "I'd like to rent Crossroads, please." >__<

Haha, I remember a family friend was going out to get "Glitter" for a RiffTrax from Blockbuster, and she said she felt like she had to defend herself from renting such a wretched movie.

Twilight is a good RiffTrax! Top Gun is a pretty good one too. Oh man.... thank you for posting all the links, I haven't watched MST3K or any RiffTrax in a while.

EDIT: I was inspired to search for an old MST3K episode that made me cry from laughing so hard the first time I watched it, and after doing a little research I found a youtube video of it and found the part that made me cry. It made me tear up this time from laughing, but I wasn't fully crying... Goooood times.

Oh, yes, Rifftrax is a lifesaver. I could never have gotten through the Star Wars Holiday Special without it.

Which part of which episode might that be? I remember most of Manos: The Hands of Fate killing me to death with laughter.

I can't believe how reckless this school was. Those children could have been killed!

    Fixed your quote

I mean every word I say. But according to your quote I said that, so I guess I meant that too.
  • edited April 2011
So you mean every word that I say you said? Excellent....

Pardon me whilst I craft the most efficient and profitable means of exploiting this.

I miss Bonus Stage, but I'm glad this guy is creating again.
  • edited April 2011
That was great. Are they planning to make more of these?
  • edited April 2011
I believe he is. Though if it's just one or two more, or a whole series, I don't remember.
  • edited April 2011
I can't wait until he disowns this franchise and starts hating fans for liking it!

According to his blog, part 2 will be out in the fall. No apparent plans for a followup. The problem with this guy is he keeps starting project after project without doing much with them. I think he wants to pitch a series to Adult Swim and make it big, so everything he makes comes off as a pilot.

His animation chops have definitely improved since Bonus Stage, as does his voice acting ability (if I'm not mistaken, he's doing all the voices).

    Even the robot? Impressive!

He was a robot? That'd explain a couple of things...

I'm sure you've all heard of this Pony thing going around. I don't watch it myself (though from what little I have seen, the animation is fairly impressive) but I found this hilarious. Ponies of the Caribbean!

Hey guys. I've been reading some previous threads and I heard about this *sarcasm* awesome dude*sarcasm* named pickle962. Anyway, I decided to google him and guess what? That troll's got a youtube...

This is relevant? To anything? Ever?
  • edited April 2011
beats me. Lots of people have youtube channels/accounts.

The pony thing...I've seen a few different game and movie trailers done like that. Mass Effect 2, Elder Scrolls V, 300. Maybe some others? I know little about the actual cartoon though. I guess it was made by the people who made powerfuff girls or something?
